10 outstanding achievements of women in Nghe An province during the period 2021-2025

During the period 2021-2025, women's associations at all levels in Nghe An province closely followed the directives of the Central Women's Union, the Provincial Party Committee, and the Resolution of the 16th Provincial Women's Union Congress to implement creative and practical initiatives, making significant contributions to socio-economic development, Party building, and strengthening the political system. The following 10 outstanding achievements are evidence of the innovative spirit, persistent efforts, and responsibility of women in Nghe An in the new era.

The Women's Union at all levels has creatively and concretely implemented the Resolution of the 13th National Women's Congress and the Resolutions of the Women's Union Congresses at all levels, linking them to the political tasks of the locality, launching widespread emulation movements, and mobilizing the strength of all members and women to participate. As a result, all 10/10 main targets of the term have been achieved and exceeded, affirming the courage, intelligence, innovation, creativity in action, and the widespread influence of the Nghe An Women's Union in the new era.

The Women's Union of Nghe An province has strongly innovated its propaganda work, bringing the Party's guidelines, policies, laws, and resolutions of the Union to its members through a multi-layered, multi-platform communication system. During the term, the Union organized 16,771 propaganda activities (exceeding the target by over 5,700), and boosted digital communication with more than 12,500 news articles, reports, and features on newspapers and social media. The Union published 54,300 copies of the "Nghe An Women" newsletter to serve grassroots activities. The team of 7,310 reporters and social opinion collaborators worked effectively, contributing to the timely and accurate dissemination of information and promoting women's movements throughout the province.

The movement was concretized through 17 model projects; thousands of conferences, training courses, and communication sessions were organized, creating a lasting impact in the community. The "Following Uncle Ho's Example" models mobilized over 27.7 billion VND to help disadvantaged women. Nearly 16,100 exemplary collectives and individuals were honored, creating momentum to spread positive values ​​and contributing to building the image of Nghe An women as compassionate, responsible, and full of aspirations for advancement.

Activities supporting women's economic development have yielded many outstanding results, affirming the role of women in the development of the new rural economy and household economies. Women's associations at all levels have provided training and education to over 681,000 women; supported 1,096 startup ideas; assisted in the establishment of 19 women-owned cooperatives and 121 cooperative groups; and helped 139,294 poor and near-poor households with women, including 5,540 households that have escaped poverty or near-poverty.

The "Godmother" and "Shelter of Love" movements, caring for members, poor and vulnerable women, etc., became a highlight of humanitarianism during the term. Over 106,800 disadvantaged women received assistance; 3,403 orphans received sponsorship; 375 "Shelter of Love" received support for construction and repair of 35 houses, with a total resource of nearly 170 billion VND. Activities supporting vulnerable people, women with disabilities, and families of policy beneficiaries continue to affirm the role of the Women's Union as a reliable support system, spreading the spirit of compassion in the community.

The "Five No's, Three Cleanliness/Five Yes's, Three Cleanliness" campaign has been implemented practically, creating clear changes. Women's Union branches at all levels organized over 1,000 communication and training activities; supported over 10,300 households in achieving sustainable criteria; and carried out nearly 4,000 projects and tasks worth 19 billion VND.

In particular, the Association has advised on and directly implemented the Provincial People's Committee's project on waste sorting and treatment at source and reducing plastic bags in the period 2023–2027, contributing to the formation of green living habits. These results have made a positive contribution to the province's achievements in building new rural areas, with 275 out of 362 communes meeting the new rural area standards; 102 communes achieving advanced new rural area status, 16 model communes; and 327 communes meeting the new rural area standards (before July 2025).

During its term, the Association introduced 6,372 outstanding members to the Party, including admitting 2,578 new Party members. The Association at all levels organized 257 policy dialogue forums; 420 monitoring activities, and 1,655 instances of providing feedback on legal documents, affirming the responsible and constructive voice of the Association within the political system.

With the motto "Wherever there are women, there are Women's Union activities," the Women's Union at all levels has recruited 78,896 new members, with 90% of its branches achieving a membership rate of over 60% of local women; consolidating over 85% of its branches with effective operational models; focusing on training and standardizing the staff according to Project 1893 and improving digital transformation skills at all levels, creating a foundation for the Union to operate more professionally and modernly.

With resources exceeding 62 billion VND, Project 8 has brought about significant changes in raising awareness and implementing gender equality. The establishment of 360 community communication groups, 52 "Leaders of Change" clubs, and 12 livelihood groups has created a foundation for ethnic minority women to be more confident in participating in the community, reducing violence, eliminating prejudice, and promoting sustainable development in ethnic minority areas.

In 2025, the Provincial Women's Union will organize the largest-ever "Elegant Vietnamese Ao Dai" fashion show combined with a folk dance performance at Ho Chi Minh Square, attracting over 1,000 officials and members, creating a lasting impression and spreading the beauty of Nghe An women. Alongside this, the Women's Union at all levels will regularly maintain folk dance, arts, sports, and traditional games activities in residential areas and organize competitions during major holidays. These activities contribute to improving the cultural, spiritual, and physical lives of members; strengthening solidarity, exchange, and learning; and building the image of "Nghe An women of the new era: knowledgeable, ethical, healthy, ambitious, and responsible."
