Five cases of illegal timber transportation were busted in 10 days.
(Baonghean.vn) - From April 10-20, Mobile Forest Protection Team No. 3 of the Forest Protection Department apprehended 5 cases of illegal timber transportation.

Specifically, on April 10th, the team conducted an inspection and discovered a 12-seater vehicle with license plate 38N-0731, driven by Thai Doan Quang from Tan Lac Town, Quy Chau District, transporting timber from Chau Phong Commune, Quy Chau District. A physical inspection revealed 0.95 cubic meters of illegally harvested timber (Group 4 sawn timber) hidden in the vehicle's cargo area. None of the timber had documentation proving its legal origin. The task force confiscated the timber and imposed a fine of 30 million VND.

Subsequently, on April 19th, the team inspected a transport vehicle, license plate 37C-15165, driven by Vo Minh Chung from Kim Son Town, Que Phong District, transporting illegally logged timber from Chau Hanh Commune, Quy Chau District, to National Highway 48 near Tan Lac Town, Quy Chau District. Upon inspection, they discovered 1.7 cubic meters of timber in the vehicle's cargo area.3For wood classified as group 7, the task force imposed a fine of 45 million VND.
On April 16th, 19th, and 20th, the team also discovered three cases of ownerless timber concentrated in Chau Thanh commune (Quy Hop district) and Chau Thuan commune (Quy Chau district), confiscating over 10 cubic meters.3A total of nearly 13 cubic meters of wood were confiscated, and administrative fines totaling 75 million VND were imposed.
