10 key tasks from now until election day

(Baonghean.vn) - We will focus on 10 key tasks from now until the election day of May 22, 2016. That is the requirement set forth at the election training conference organized by the Nghe An Department of Home Affairs for the staff in charge of election work at all levels on the morning of April 12.

Comrades Nguyen Huu Lam - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Organization Committee, Head of the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee; Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors and delegates in charge of district and commune-level elections and election teams attended the conference.

Comrade Dau Van Thanh - Director of the Department of Home Affairs requested that election organizations at all levels need to adhere to regulations and time schedules, paying attention to training and propaganda work at all levels.

At the training course, delegates were informed about the points to note in implementing the Election Law and the guiding documents of the Central agencies. How to resolve cases of vacancies in candidates for National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies due to force majeure in the constituencies after the list of candidates has been posted.

Delegates were also instructed on election organization procedures, from arranging polling locations; preparing ballot boxes; delivering and receiving documents related to the election such as voter cards, ballots, seals, various types of records, forms, lists and brief biographies of candidates... Making records, forms, inventorying, checking and classifying ballots; synthesizing election results reports...

From now until the election day, the election committees and teams must focus on 10 key tasks. These are: organizing the third consultation conference to introduce candidates for the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term; sending the minutes of the consultation conference results; establishing, announcing and posting the official list of candidates for the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term.

Election organizations carry out the distribution and receipt of documents related to the election work; organize election campaigning for candidates in two forms, organizing contact with voters at the polling place and through the mass media. Focus on resolving complaints about the establishment of the voter list...

Within 10 days before the election day, the Election Committee must regularly notify voters of the election day, polling place, and voting time by posting, broadcasting, and other local mass media.

At the training session, delegates also learned about propaganda work; ensuring security and safety for the election; instructions on using professional software to synthesize election results; and discussed and answered questions and recommendations that are being raised in practice...
