10 key tasks from now until election day

(Baonghean.vn) - Ten key tasks will be focused on from now until the election day on May 22, 2016. This was the requirement set forth at the election training conference organized by the Nghe An Department of Internal Affairs for election officials at all levels on the morning of April 12.

Comrades Nguyen Huu Lam - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department, Head of the Provincial People's Council's Legal Affairs Committee; Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives from provincial departments and agencies; and delegates in charge of election work at the district, commune, and polling station levels attended the conference.

Comrade Dau Van Thanh - Director of the Department of Internal Affairs - requested that election-related organizations at all levels adhere to regulations and timelines, paying particular attention to training and propaganda at all levels.

During the training course, delegates were informed about key points to note in the implementation of the Election Law and guiding documents from central agencies. They also learned how to handle cases where candidates for the National Assembly and People's Councils are absent due to force majeure in electoral units after the list of candidates has been posted.

The delegates were also instructed on election organization procedures, from arranging polling stations; preparing ballot boxes; receiving and distributing election-related documents such as voter cards, ballots, seals, various minutes, forms, lists and brief biographies of candidates... to preparing minutes and forms, counting, checking and classifying ballots; and compiling election results reports...

From now until election day, election committees and teams must focus on 10 key tasks. These include organizing the third consultative conference to introduce candidates for the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term; submitting the minutes of the consultative conference results; compiling, announcing, and posting the official list of candidates for the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term.

Election organizations implement the distribution and receipt of election-related documents; organize election campaigns for candidates in two forms: voter outreach at polling stations and through mass media. Focus on resolving complaints regarding voter registration...

Ten days before the election day, the Election Committee must regularly inform voters about the election day, polling place, and voting time through notices, broadcasts, and other local mass media.

During the training session, delegates also received information on propaganda work; ensuring security and safety for the election; guidance on using software to compile election results; and discussed and answered questions and suggestions arising from practical experience...
