The shower that lasted for about 10 minutes at the end of the match between Hai Phong Club and Da Nang team witnessed dramatic and unpredictable developments at Lach Tray Stadium.
Highlights Duc Chinh U23 scores, Da Nang still loses dramaticallyNgoc Tan's last-second goal negated all efforts of the visiting team Da Nang, and brought a dramatic victory to the home team Lach Tray in round 7 of V.League.
The match of round 7 of V.League between Hai Phong Club and Da Nang Club witnessed a nearly one-sided game in favor of the home team Hai Phong in the first half. With the dynamism of Fagan (in yellow shirt) and Stevens, Hai Phong team took a 2-0 lead over their opponents. The opening goal was scored by Stevens, and the one who increased the gap to 2-0 was striker Dinh Bao.
However, Da Nang FC had a goal to reduce the score after a lucky free kick by Vo Huy Toan. After that, Da Nang's game was still not optimistic, and not many people believed in the ability of coach Minh Phuong and his team to equalize.
However, the downpour that came around the 80th minute was like a turning point in the emotional aspect of the match. It also marked the moment when Da Nang players rose up to find an equalizer. They pushed their formation high, continuously feeding the ball inside for the strikers to finish.
Da Nang players showed determination in every match. The rain at Lach Tray not only did not cool down the fighting spirit of the away team, but also helped the players play more passionately.
The visitors' efforts were rewarded. In the 90th minute, striker Ha Duc Chinh quickly finished, equalizing 2-2 for Da Nang Club.
The home team was disappointed, as if they could not believe the result. They were the better players for most of the match. Defender Anh Hung collapsed on the field after Duc Chinh's goal.
It seemed like the match would end in a draw, but in the 90+4 minute, Fagan made a great dribble on the left wing and passed the ball back to Ngoc Tan who scored against Da Nang. The goal in extra time made the fans and Hai Phong coaching staff burst into joy. Although the referee had not blown the final whistle, Coach Truong Viet Hoang rushed onto the field to share the joy with his players.
On the opposite side of the goal, goalkeeper Dang Van Lam had no teammates to share his joy with. He turned to the reporters and shouted with emotion. Just 4 minutes earlier, this goalkeeper had been sitting there, staring blankly at his teammates as Hai Phong FC were equalized.
One person’s joy is another person’s sadness. Just after enjoying the joy, only 4 minutes later, Coach Minh Phuong had to endure immense disappointment. The former midfielder of the Vietnam national team stood still for a long time under the heavy rain, as if he could not believe the team’s defeat.
Da Nang players could not hide their sadness when the whistle blew. They tried very hard in the last 10 minutes, but a moment of carelessness caused them to leave Lach Tray empty-handed.
The saddest person was probably Do Merlo. He wore the captain's armband and was assigned to play the highest position, but what this striker did was almost zero. Merlo sat silently in the team's technical area, not talking to anyone.
Losing this match, Coach Minh Phuong's Da Nang Club dropped to 11th place on the rankings. Meanwhile, Coach Truong Viet Hoang's Hai Phong team temporarily rose to 5th place. With their rising form and the support of sponsors, Hai Phong Club promises to have even better results in the upcoming rounds.
