According to information from Lang Son Provincial Police, a subject transporting a large quantity of firecrackers and grenades by car was arrested by police while traveling from the border area to Lang Son inland.
Accordingly, at around 8:00 p.m. (January 12), at National Highway 1A in Phai Tran village, block 5, Cao Loc town, Cao Loc district, Lang Son province, Cao Loc district police inspected a truck with license plate 21C - 006.96 driven by Ngo Van Tuyen (born in 1989, residing in Nghia Phuong, Luc Nam, Bac Giang). Upon inspection, it was discovered that there were 4 cardboard boxes in the cabin, and 4 boxes in the truck bed all containing explosive fireworks, including 72 boxes of fireworks, 1,000 Chinese-made grenades with a total weight of 168 kg.
Cao Loc District Police investigated and clarified that Tuyen drove a truck carrying goods to the border gate of Cao Bang province, then crossed the border to China to buy 8 boxes of firecrackers to transport back to his hometown to sell during Tet to make a profit. While on the way to bring the firecrackers back to the mainland, he was discovered and caught red-handed by Cao Loc District Police./.
