On the morning of June 11, the Binh Thuan Provincial Police announced that they had temporarily detained 102 people for investigation into the vandalism of the Provincial People's Committee headquarters and surrounding government offices.
"The incident at the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province did not result in any fatalities, but dozens of police officers on duty were injured," said Colonel Nguyen Van Nhieu, Head of the Staff Department and spokesperson for the Binh Thuan Provincial Police.

According to Colonel Nhieu, by around 11:30 PM yesterday, with the support of the Mobile Police Force (Ministry of Public Security), the police had basically dispersed the crowd that was vandalizing the provincial People's Committee headquarters.
Mr. Pham Van Nam, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province, said that last night's incident caused considerable damage to the provincial People's Committee headquarters, affecting work. "However, this morning, staff still came to work as usual. We are cleaning up and gradually repairing the damage," Mr. Nam said.

Yesterday, under the pretext of protesting the draft Special Economic Zone Law, many people blocked National Highway 1 through Phan Rí Cửa town, Tuy Phong district (Bình Thuận province). Police were deployed to ensure security and order. At some points, law enforcement officers encountered strong resistance from the crowd. Many young people threw bricks and stones, attacking and vandalizing official vehicles.
That evening, thousands of people gathered in front of the Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee building on Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street, Phan Thiet City. Many people pushed against the gate, smashed the glass of the security guard's booth, and set vehicles on fire. Some extremists threw bricks, stones, and Molotov cocktails inside, attacking the officers on duty.
