11 individuals received the Medal "Accompanying the nation in 2017"
(Baonghean.vn) - In recognition of their outstanding contributions in innovation and improving the quality of emulation movements and campaigns of the Catholic community, the Catholic Solidarity Committee of Nghe An province has awarded the "Accompanying the Nation in 2017" Medal to 11 individuals.

On the morning of July 20, the Catholic Solidarity Committee (CCS) of Nghe An province held a conference to review the activities of the first 6 months of 2018, and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of the year. The conference was chaired by priest Nguyen Dang Dien - Chairman of the CCS and Vice Chairmen. In the first 6 months of 2018, the parishioners enthusiastically participated in patriotic emulation movements and campaigns such as: "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas, live a good life and follow good religion", "Fund for the poor", "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods"... In the first 6 months of the year, Nghe An parishioners donated over 8,000m2land, dismantled 2,802m of surrounding walls, participated in 3,179 working days, contributed over 3.5 billion VND to build new rural traffic, built 24,600m of rural concrete roads.
Catholics in the province have boldly invested and applied scientific and technological advances in production and livestock development, resulting in many advanced economic models that bring in high incomes.
Parishioners strictly comply with the Party's policies, the State's laws and local regulations, together build a safe and secure parish and residential area, actively prevent crime and social evils, and properly implement the village's conventions and covenants.
The Pastoral Councils of the parishes, together with the government, the Fatherland Front, organizations, and sectors, promptly resolved cases with reason and emotion, promptly educated, contributed to reducing discord in families and society, created solidarity among neighbors, and helped each other progress.

At the conference, delegates were also introduced to the Law on Religious Beliefs and Decree No. 162/2017/ND-CP detailing and implementing measures for the Law on Religious Beliefs.
Orienting the tasks for the last 6 months of 2018, the Provincial Committee for Religious Affairs focuses on promoting extensive propaganda among Catholics about the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies; and the Law on Religious Beliefs. In addition, the Provincial Committee for Religious Affairs closely coordinates with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels, strengthens close contact with the grassroots, encourages and promptly reflects the legitimate thoughts and aspirations of the Catholic community.
The Catholic Church at all levels continues to play the role of "bridge", coordinating well with the team of dignitaries and officials to widely mobilize the Catholic community to enthusiastically compete in labor production; actively respond to campaigns and emulation movements to "live a good life, practice good religion"; well implement the policy of great national unity together towards the goal of a rich people, a strong country, a fair, democratic and civilized society.
