Eleven people at three vehicle inspection centers in Nam Dinh and Thai Binh provinces have been arrested.

According to the Thai Binh Provincial Police, officials at the two vehicle inspection centers accepted money to overlook vehicle defects such as: failure to meet technical and environmental safety standards, modifications to the original design, and exceeding the permitted modification period. This falsified inspection results, allowing vehicles to be issued inspection certificates despite not meeting safety requirements and standards.
