116 students from Nghe An province will receive Vallet scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year.

On September 3rd, Vinh University, in collaboration with the "Meeting Vietnam" Science and Education organization and the Vallet Scholarship Fund, held the Vallet Scholarship Award Ceremony for the 2024-2025 academic year for students in Nghe An province with outstanding academic achievements.

Attendees included Mr. Patrick Aurenche - Vice President of the "Meeting Vietnam" Science and Education Organization; Mr. Esperan Padonou - Deputy Director of the Vallet Scholarship Fund; Ms. Tran Thi Kim Dung - Former Deputy Director of SOS Children's Villages Vietnam; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang Chi - Representative of the Scholarship Fund Coordination Board in Nghe An.

Representing Nghe An province were Comrade Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; representatives from the Department of Education and Training; and representatives from Vinh University, Vinh University of Technology and Education, Vinh Medical University, and 14 high schools whose students were selected for scholarships.

The Vallet Scholarship Fund was established in 1999 through the voluntary contribution of Mr. Odon Vallet, Doctor of Science in French Law, Professor of Religious History at the Sorbonne University, France.

The Vallet Scholarship is a large-scale, non-governmental scholarship program that has been operating for the past 26 years to support outstanding students in France, Africa, Vietnam, and Vietnamese students in France.

In Vietnam, to date, the Vallet scholarship has awarded more than 53,000 scholarships to outstanding students nationwide, totaling over 550 billion VND; the number and value of scholarships awarded each year are always higher than the previous year.

And over the past two decades, thousands of outstanding students from Nghe An province have received valuable scholarships from the Scholarship Fund, totaling over 30 billion VND.

Representatives from the "Meeting Vietnam" Science and Education Organization and the Vallet Scholarship Fund affirmed that they will maintain this scholarship for at least another 100 years. Each year, the Fund will increase the scholarship value with the hope of further motivating students to study and conduct scientific research, contributing even more to the development of the country.

On this occasion, 116 outstanding students from Nghe An province received Vallet scholarships for the 2025 academic year, totaling 2.224 billion VND, including: 93 high school students and 23 university students received scholarships; each university student scholarship was worth 32 million VND, and each high school student scholarship was worth 16 million VND. Among them were many high school students who had won international and national awards; students from Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School and Vinh University Specialized High School; university students from Vinh University and Vinh University of Technology and Education; and students from other high schools in the province.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Nguyen Nam Dinh, expressed his gratitude to the members of the "Meeting Vietnam" Science and Education Organization, the Vallet Foundation, and the Vallet Scholarship Coordination Board in Vietnam for their heartfelt dedication to the younger generation and their strong sense of solidarity and friendship. This is not only a valuable material gift, helping and creating opportunities for the students to study and conduct scientific research, but also demonstrates the special affection and trust that the professors have for the students of Nghe An province, the children of a land rich in a tradition of studiousness, ready to contribute their talents and intellect to the development of their homeland, country, and community.
