116 students from Nghe An province received Vallet scholarships for the 2024-2025 school year

On September 3, Vinh University, in collaboration with the Science and Education Organization "Meet Vietnam" and the Vallet Scholarship Fund, held the Vallet Scholarship Award Ceremony for the 2024-2025 academic year for students of Nghe An province with excellent academic achievements.

Attending the event were Mr. Patrich Aurenche - Vice President of the Science and Education Organization "Meet Vietnam"; Mr. Esperan Padonou - Deputy Director of the Vallet Scholarship Fund; Ms. Tran Thi Kim Dung - Former Deputy Director of SOS Children's Villages Vietnam and Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang Chi - Representative of the Scholarship Fund Coordination Board in Nghe An.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrade Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; representatives of the Department of Education and Training; and schools: Vinh University, Vinh University of Technical Education, Vinh University of Medicine and 14 high schools with students eligible for scholarships.

The Vallet Scholarship Fund was established in 1999 from the voluntary contribution of Mr. Odon Vallet - Doctor of Science in French Law, professor of religious history at Sorbonne University, France.

The Vallet Scholarship is a large-scale non-governmental scholarship, operating for the past 26 years to support excellent students in France, Africa, Vietnam and Vietnamese students in France.

In Vietnam, to date, the Vallet scholarship has awarded more than 53,000 scholarships to excellent students nationwide with a total value of over VND550 billion; the number of scholarships and the value of the scholarships each year are always higher than the previous year.

And over the past two decades, thousands of excellent students of Nghe An province have received valuable scholarships from the Scholarship Fund with a total amount of over 30 billion VND.

Representatives of the Scientific and Educational Organization "Meeting Vietnam" and the Vallet Scholarship Fund affirmed that they will maintain this scholarship for at least 100 more years. Every year, the Fund will increase the value of the scholarship with the desire to further motivate students to study and conduct scientific research to contribute more to the development of the country.

On this occasion, 116 excellent students of Nghe An received Vallet scholarships for the 2025 school year with a total value of VND 2,224 billion, including 93 students, 23 university students; each student scholarship is 32 million VND, each student scholarship is 16 million VND. Among them are many students who won international and national prizes; students from Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Vinh University High School for the Gifted; students from Vinh University and Vinh University of Technical Education; and students from other high schools in the province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Nam Dinh expressed his gratitude to the members of the Science and Education Organization "Meeting Vietnam", Vallet Foundation; Vallet Scholarship Fund Coordination Board in Vietnam, for their hearts for the young generation, full of solidarity and friendship. This is not only a valuable material gift, helping and creating conditions for students to study and do scientific research, but also showing the hearts and special trust of the professors for students of Nghe An, the children of the land with a rich tradition of studiousness, ready to devote their talents and intelligence to the development of their homeland, country and community.

In recent times, the province has made many decisions to prioritize the development of education, encourage and support students in their learning journey. In addition, there is the responsible companionship of many individuals, organizations, groups, etc. We hope that students will appreciate those loving hearts, make greater efforts to achieve high results in their studies, become talented and useful people, and contribute positively to the development of the country and social progress.
