12 years of close friendship between villages

Despite speaking different languages and having distinct cultures, for the past 12 years, the people of Thuy Phong village, Kim Bang commune, Nghe An province, and Xop Tong village, Xay Cham Phon district, Laos, have maintained a close and enduring bond. Overcoming the difficulties of geographical location and border isolation, this "village-to-village" twinning model has yielded practical results in economic development, poverty reduction, and maintaining border security.
