Combining both charges, the defendant must serve a 12-year prison sentence.

According to the records, on the afternoon of April 19, 2014, Uong Nhat Duoc (born in 1949), residing in Hung Loc commune, Vinh city, went to the house of Vo Thi T. (same village) to buy alcohol to drink and committed depraved acts with Uong TL, T's daughter. At this time, Uong TL was only 12 years and 11 months old.

After that, the defendant repeatedly had sexual intercourse with Uong TL. According to the defendant's testimony during the investigation and at the trial, the child did not react to the sexual intercourse. The incident was only discovered in December 2015, when Ms. T. took her child to the doctor. The doctors said that TL was 26 weeks pregnant. The child stated that the "author" of the fetus was the old man next door.

After the incident was discovered, Uong Nhat Duoc gave the victim 100 million VND to cover the costs of TL's pregnancy and childbirth. In March 2016, Uong TL gave birth to a baby boy. DNA test results showed that the baby was Uong Nhat Duoc's biological son. Uong Nhat Duoc was prosecuted for child rape and sexual intercourse with a child.

At the trial, Uong Nhat Duoc admitted all his crimes and asked for forgiveness from the victim's family.

Considering the entire case, considering the aggravating and mitigating circumstances, the panel sentenced the defendant to the above sentence. In addition, the defendant must compensate Ms. Vo Thi T. - Uong TL's mother 13.3 million VND for child care and must be responsible for child support of 300,000 VND/month until the child turns 18 years old.
