12 women holding hands crossing the stream, 2 were swept away
Information from the People's Committee of Phuc Son Commune (Anh Son) said that a heartbreaking incident had just occurred in the area, causing 2 people to be swept away by the water.
According to information, on the afternoon of July 19, 12 women (all residing in Phuc Son commune) entered the Cao Veu forest area, Phuc Son commune to plant acacia and cajuput trees for hire for a local resident.
At around 5:30 p.m., when they returned, they discovered that the water level in Veu stream had risen due to heavy rain. Seeing this, the group decided to hold hands and cross the stream in groups. However, two people in the group behind were swept away by the water.
The two people swept away by the water were identified as Ms. HTL and D.TH.
With the coordination of local forces, by noon on July 20, authorities found Ms. HTL's body more than 1 km from the accident site.
The search for the remaining victims is still being urgently deployed.
