Who are the 15 members of the Prime Minister's economic advisory team?
(Baonghean.vn) - The Prime Minister has just signed Decision 1120/QD-TTg establishing the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Group to advise the Prime Minister on economic development issues. The Economic Advisory Group consists of 15 members.
1.Dr. Vu Viet Ngoan

| Mr. Vu Viet Ngoan, born in 1958 in Hanoi, is the former Chairman of the National Financial Supervision Committee. He holds a Master's degree in Peace Movement from Bocconi University (Italy) and a PhD in Finance from La Salle University (USA). He previously served as the Vice Chairman of the Economic Committee of the 13th National Assembly. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc recently appointed him as the Head of the Economic Advisory Group. |
2.Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Ngoc Anh

| Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Ngoc Anh (Indiana University, USA) graduated with a Master's degree in Economics from the University of New South Wales, Australia in 1999 and a Ph.D. in Public Policy from Harvard University, USA in 2009. He has experience advising on numerous projects and research for the World Bank, the United Nations, and the Government of Vietnam. Currently, Dr. Tran Ngoc Anh is researching and teaching at the School of Public Policy and Environment and is also the Director of the Vietnam Initiative Program at Indiana University, USA. |
3.Dr. Vu Thanh Tu Anh

| Dr. Vu Thanh Tu Anh (PhD in Economics from Boston College, USA) is currently the Director of the Fulbright Economics Teaching Program in Ho Chi Minh City and a Senior Research Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. His main research areas are development economics, industrial policy, and institutional economics. In addition to his work at the Fulbright School, Dr. Tu Anh is also a member of the Economic Expert Group of the National Assembly's Economic Committee and a member of the Scientific Council of the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City. |

| Dr. Vu Bang was born in 1957 in Thai Binh province. He holds a PhD in economics and was formerly the Chairman of the State Securities Commission. He is considered to have been involved with the Vietnamese stock market from its early days 20 years ago until his retirement this past May. |

6.Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat

| Professor Tran Tho Dat (born in 1959 in Nam Dinh province) holds a PhD in economics. He is currently the Rector of the National Economics University (NEU) for the 2013-2018 term. He researches and teaches in economics, development economics, fiscal and monetary policy, macroeconomic stability, finance in higher education, and economic issues related to environmental change. Professor Dat has also published several articles and research papers in international ISI and Scopus journals. |
7.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Khuong

| Professor Dr. Nguyen Duc Khuong (born in 1978 in Soc Son, Hanoi) received his PhD in Financial Management from the University of Grenoble at the age of 27. He previously taught at the Lyon School of Business Administration, the Grenoble Institute of Business Administration, and was a full lecturer at the Paris Business Academy. Currently, Professor Khuong is the Deputy Director in charge of research and international scientific cooperation, and Head of the Finance Department at the Paris Institute of Administration and Business Management (IPAG Business School). He was the first Vietnamese person to be ranked among the top 10 young economists in the world by the RePEc project. |
8.Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Khuong

| Associate Professor Vu Minh Khuong began working at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy as an associate professor in 2006. His research focuses on economic growth, productivity, competitiveness, and issues related to the impact of IT, e-government, and economic integration. He has published numerous articles in international journals such as the Scandinavian Journal of Economics, the German Economics Review, Energy Policy, and the Journal of Policy Modeling. He received his Ph.D. in Public Policy and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Mathematics from Hanoi University. |

He holds a bachelor's degree in law, control mathematics, and political theory. He also has a doctorate in finance, monetary circulation, and credit from the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. Dr. Phuoc was formerly the Director of the State Bank of Vietnam's Transaction Department and led several major banks. |

He previously served as Deputy Director and Director of the Institute of World Economics and Politics; Vice President and President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences; and was a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam in the 11th and 12th terms. Currently, he is the Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council. |

He worked at the Japan Economic Research Center, then became an Associate Professor and later a Professor at Obirin University (Tokyo). From 2000 to the present, he has been a Professor of Economics at Waseda University (Tokyo). In 1990, he was one of three foreigners invited to be a specialist member of the Japanese Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council, a position he held for nearly 10 years, under several Prime Ministers. |
