16,000 former Youth Volunteers in Nghe An Province are receiving allowances.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 28, the 3rd Congress of the Nghe An Former Youth Volunteers Association, for the term 2015 – 2020, took place.
Attending the congress were Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Dan - Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Former Youth Volunteers Association. Representing Nghe An province were Comrade Ho Phuc Hop - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, representatives from various departments, agencies, and mass organizations, along with 164 delegates representing over 22,000 former youth volunteers throughout the province.
During the past term, the Nghe An Former Youth Volunteers Association has developed both in quantity and quality. To date, the organization has spread to 20 out of 21 districts and cities, with nearly 22,600 members. The association at all levels has focused on directing activities demonstrating camaraderie and mutual support; organizing visits and gift-giving to over 1,000 members on major holidays.
The association has launched a voluntary contribution campaign among its members to build a fund for mutual support among comrades; to date, the fund has raised over 10 billion VND. The association has organized the awarding of 200 savings accounts (worth from 1 to 5 million VND) to members in difficult circumstances…

In addition, the associations at all levels have played a good role as historical witnesses, helping the authorities at all levels resolve issues related to policies and benefits for former Youth Volunteers. To date, 16,000 former Youth Volunteers have received one-time allowances, 470 martyrs, 5,000 Youth Volunteers have received benefits similar to those for wounded soldiers, and 470 cases have received regular allowances; funeral and health insurance benefits have been largely resolved.

In the patriotic emulation movement, the entire province has seen over 250 successful economic models implemented by former Youth Volunteers, creating jobs for over 100 children of former Youth Volunteers. Members of the former Youth Volunteer Association at all levels have also contributed over 20,000 man-days of labor, donated over 230,000 square meters of land, and contributed tens of millions of dong to the construction of new rural areas.

Building on the achievements already made, in the next term, the Nghe An Former Youth Volunteers Association will continue to coordinate with all levels of government, the Fatherland Front, and relevant agencies to complete the settlement of benefits for former youth volunteers; promote activities demonstrating camaraderie and mutual support; expand and improve the quality of the former youth volunteer emulation movement, especially the "Former Youth Volunteers Setting a Bright Example" movement, following the teachings and moral example of Ho Chi Minh.

On this occasion, the congress elected a new Executive Committee consisting of 25 members, and Mr. Mai Ất was re-elected as Chairman of the Association of Former Youth Volunteers of Nghe An province for the third term, 2015-2020.
