2.5 tons of tangerines, apples, and persimmons smuggled from China into Nghe An province.
(Baonghean.vn) - The Environmental Police Department (PC49) of Nghe An Provincial Police and Market Management Team No. 4 - Nghe An Market Management Sub-department have just seized a truck transporting 2.5 tons of Chinese fruit without legal documentation.

Accordingly, at approximately 2:35 AM on December 12th, on National Highway 1A, in the section passing through Hamlet 3, Quynh Hong Commune, Quynh Luu District, the Environmental Police Department (PC49) of the Provincial Police, in coordination with Market Management Team No. 4 - Nghe An Market Management Sub-department, conducted a surprise inspection of a truck with license plate 37C - 173.04 driven by Mr. Ho Huu Thong (born in 1993), residing in Hamlet 3, Quynh Hong Commune, Quynh Luu District.

Upon inspection, authorities discovered 2.5 tons of fruit (apples, pears, persimmons, tangerines) being transported in the vehicle. The driver, Ho Huu Thong, could not produce invoices or documents proving the legal origin of the shipment. Initial verification revealed that all the fruit originated from China and was smuggled into Vietnam for sale in Nghe An province.
Authorities have issued a decision to fine Mr. Ho Huu Thong 15 million VND and confiscate and destroy all the smuggled fruits mentioned above, in accordance with Point G, Clause 1, Article 17 of Decree No. 185/2013/ND-CP and Circular No. 64/2015/TTLT-BCA-BQP dated May 8, 2015.
