Two SLNA players have been called up to the Vietnam U23 national team.
Two SLNA players, goalkeeper Cao Văn Bình and defender Trần Nam Hải, have been included in the training camp roster from October 4th to October 15th, 2025 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center in Hanoi.
On September 30th, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) sent a letter to Song Lam Nghe An Club regarding the summoning of players to participate in the third training camp of the U23 National Team in 2025. Accordingly, two young players from the Nghe An team, goalkeeper Cao Van Binh and defender Tran Nam Hai, have been included in the list of players to be called up from October 4th to 15th, 2025 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center in Hanoi.

Cao Van Binh and Tran Nam Hai are both players who came through the SLNA youth academy and quickly demonstrated their potential at the club. Van Binh stands out for his quick reflexes and composure in goal, while Nam Hai is a versatile defender, playing solidly and strongly in tackles.
The fact that both of them were given the opportunity to join the national team by coach Kim Sang-sik is an important step in their careers, because if they perform well, they have a good chance of being included in the official list of the Vietnam U23 team to participate in important international tournaments later this year.

In this call-up list, coach Phan Như Thuật – who recently parted ways with his position as head coach of SLNA – is also included in the coaching staff of the Vietnam U23 team.
Notably, this training camp took place right after the Vietnam U23 team secured their place in the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Championship finals. In the qualifying round held in early September, coach Kim Sang-sik's team won all three matches, including a 1-0 victory against Yemen U23, thus participating in the finals for the sixth consecutive time.
This training camp is considered an important preparation step for the Vietnam U23 team in their goal of winning the gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games, expected to take place at the end of 2025. The fact that two young players from SLNA have been called up to the national team is a positive sign and affirms the value of youth football training at the Song Lam Nghe An academy.
