Two first-grade students in Nghe An province drowned while fishing.
(Baonghean.vn) - When the two children didn't return home for dinner, their family went to the irrigation dam to look for them and only found their hat and two pairs of sandals on the dam's bank.

According to information from the local authorities, on the afternoon of May 15th, two children, Hoang Phi Bao (7 years old) residing in Nam Linh commune and Nguyen Huu Nam (7 years old) residing in Nam Xuan commune, Nam Dan district, went fishing together at Khe Dinh dam in Hamlet 8, Nam Xuan commune.

During dinner, when Bao and Nam were missing, their family panicked and started searching. Upon reaching the Khe Dinh dam, they couldn't find the boys, only two pairs of sandals, shirts, hats, fishing rods, and a bicycle basket containing fish on the dam's edge. Suspecting they had drowned, they organized a search. Shortly afterward, the body of Hoang Phi Bao was found, submerged a few dozen meters from the shore.
The search for Nguyen Huu Nam continued throughout the night. Relatives and villagers used nets to thoroughly sweep the surface of the dam. At over 10 PM that same day, Nam's body was found submerged about 100 meters from the shore.

It is known that both Bao and Nam are first-grade students, cousins, grandsons and granddaughters of Mr. Nguyen Huu Loc, residing in Hamlet 8, Nam Xuan Commune (Nam Dan District). On May 15th, the children accompanied their parents to their grandfather's house to prepare for their grandmother's memorial service when the accident occurred.
