2 Japanese corporations seek investment opportunities in Nghe An

On the afternoon of October 13, the provincial leaders had a working session with the delegation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Office in Hanoi and the Chairman of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Hanoi to discuss the possibility of cooperation in the coming time. Also attending were representatives of Shumitomo Corporation and Sumidenso Corporation.

Receiving and working with the delegation were comrades: Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors. Also attending was Mr. Nguyen Sy Dung - former Deputy Head of the Office of the National Assembly of Vietnam.

In his welcoming speech, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh thanked JICA for its affection and support for the province and believed that this is a solid foundation for the two sides to continue developing long-term cooperative relations.

Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh also affirmed that for Nghe An, Japan is always a comprehensive strategic cooperation partner, especially in the economic field.

In recent years, many Japanese enterprises have come to explore opportunities and decided to invest in Nghe An.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh also hopes that this visit will be an opportunity and premise for Japanese enterprises to deeply understand the potential and advantages of Nghe An, thereby making the right investment decisions on the basis of mutual benefit.

The Provincial Party Secretary also pledged that Nghe An province will create all favorable conditions for Japanese enterprises to operate effectively in the province.

Professor Yoshiharu Tsuboi - Senior Advisor of JICA Office affirmed the advantages of the province from geographical location, transportation and human resources and hoped that in the coming time, Nghe An will have breakthroughs in development, especially in the industrial sector.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong said that Nghe An is calling for Japanese investors to invest in clean agriculture and high-tech industry; at the same time, he requested JICA to continue to prioritize supporting ongoing ODA projects and mobilize funding sources to focus on hunger eradication, poverty reduction, social security network development, essential infrastructure services and infrastructure works in Nghe An.

Provincial leaders and leaders of corporations also discussed the possibility of cooperation and investment in projects in the province in the coming time; in which the fields that Japanese enterprises expressed interest in were investment in electronic component factories; garment and high-tech industry, and the ability of the province's human resources to meet the demand.

Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh emphasized: Regarding the contents that Japanese enterprises are interested in, Nghe An province will try to meet them to the maximum.

Regarding the request of enterprises on human resource cooperation with Nghe An province, the provincial leaders will assign functional sectors and vocational training schools to coordinate with enterprises to link training and recruit human resources to meet the requirements of Japanese enterprises.

Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh proposed that in the immediate future, in the years 2017-2019, Shumitomo Corporation and Sumidenso Corporation will cooperate effectively in recruiting and training human resources for the province and by 2020 will invest in building factories in Nghe An.

The Provincial Party Secretary assigned the Nghe An Provincial Investment Promotion and Support Center to connect and coordinate to create conditions for Japanese enterprises to learn and soon make investment decisions in the province.

The Provincial Party Secretary hopes that the JICA Office, Shumitomo Corporation and Sumidenso Corporation will act as a bridge to help provide information on Nghe An's investment attraction to Japanese enterprises so that more and more Japanese enterprises will come to invest in the province./.
