In the first two months of 2026, Nghe An's budget revenue exceeded 5,500 billion VND.
On the morning of February 27th, at the regular monthly meeting for February 2026 chaired by the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Vo Trong Hai, the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee announced that state budget revenue in the province during the first two months of the year was estimated at 5,578 billion VND, equivalent to 23.9% of the annual budget forecast and an increase of 15.8% compared to the same period in 2025.

Of this, domestic revenue is estimated at VND 5,009 billion, equivalent to 23.4% of the projected figure and an 8.6% increase compared to the same period last year; revenue from import and export activities is estimated at VND 482 billion, equivalent to 26.1% of the projected figure, a 150.6% increase. This result is considered to create a positive foundation right from the beginning of the year, in the context of the province setting a high growth target for 2026.
This year has been identified by the Provincial Party Standing Committee as having special significance, as it is the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, the Resolution of the 20th Nghe An Provincial Party Congress, and the 5-year socio-economic development plan for 2026-2030; and also the year for organizing the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. This is also a pivotal year as the whole country enters a new development phase with the goal of double-digit growth.

According to Directive No. 09-CT/TU dated February 6, 2025, of the Provincial Party Committee on focusing leadership and direction to successfully complete the socio-economic development tasks in 2026, the province requires all levels and sectors to thoroughly understand the spirit of implementing tasks from the beginning of the year, without interrupting the progress of work; to uphold the responsibility of the head of each agency, and to implement the "6 clear" principle: Clear person, clear task, clear time, clear responsibility, clear product, clear authority.
In 2026, the Provincial Party Standing Committee set a target of 10.5-11.5% GRDP growth; state budget revenue reaching over 32,000 billion VND, striving to reach 35,000 billion VND. Prior to that, in 2025, Nghe An recorded its highest ever state budget revenue, reaching 29,211 billion VND.
