Two weeks after the floods, Muong Tip commune (Nghe An province) is still covered in mud and debris.

Two weeks after the historic storms and the first flash flood (July 22nd), and 10 days after the second flash flood (July 27th), Muong Tip commune is still in a state of chaos due to mud and landslides.

Typhoon No. 3 and its aftermath caused extremely heavy damage to the border commune.Muong TipAccording to the commune's statistics.Muong Tip117 houses were damaged, including 43 that were completely destroyed.

The kindergarten and primary school in Ta Đo village were flooded, with all property and teaching equipment completely damaged; the kindergarten in Xốp Phe village completely collapsed. The irrigation dam in Pụng village was completely filled in... Many livestock and poultry were swept away by the floodwaters, and over 27.2 hectares of rice and aquaculture farms were damaged.

Provincial Road 543D, connecting Muong Xen commune to the former Muong Ai commune, has suffered numerous landslides. Along the embankment of the Nam Mo River, many sections have lost half of their road surface... Many roads in the commune are broken; motorbikes are unable to travel on them.

Many cables, antenna masts, and power poles were broken and collapsed. The cultural centers of Xop Tip and Na My villages were buried by landslides; the cultural center of Ta Do village was flooded with 1 meter of mud, damaging all the equipment and cultural facilities... According to the People's Committee of Muong Tip commune, the economic damage (excluding industrial facilities) is estimated at approximately 42 billion VND.

Following the damage caused by Typhoon No. 3 and its aftermath, Party committees, authorities, and relevant forces have made strenuous efforts to mitigate the consequences by transporting relief supplies, dredging, repairing houses, and restoring roads for motorbikes, helping people to quickly stabilize their lives.

Working together with local Party committees and authorities, various levels of government, and charitable organizations and individuals have also provided practical support toMuong TipOvercome the difficulties quickly.

Two weeks after the historic storms and the first flash flood (July 22nd), and 10 days after the second flash flood (July 27th), Muong Tip commune remains in ruins, covered in mud. Many landslides have yet to be repaired; many collapsed houses cannot be rebuilt. Many residents of Ta Do village – which was hit by flash floods twice – are still reeling from the losses.

Thanks to the efforts of the Party committee, the government, and the support of various levels, sectors, forces, organizations, and benevolent individuals, the people of Muong Tip in general and Ta Do in particular no longer have to worry about hunger. However, the question of how to rebuild the houses that have collapsed or been swept away remains an unsolved problem.

Muong Tip commune is currently in great need of manpower and resources to mitigate the damage caused by Typhoon No. 3 and its aftermath.
