20 teams competed in the 3rd Nghe Tinh Open Tournament.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of March 5th, the 2017 Nghe Tinh Open Football Tournament was inaugurated at the De Po Sports Complex in Di An town (Binh Duong province).

The Nghe Tinh Open Football Tournament is a healthy and beneficial sporting event for people from Nghe An province who are living, studying, and working in the South.

This year's Nghe Tinh Open Football Tournament features 20 teams representing hometown associations from the two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh. The teams are divided into 4 groups, playing a round-robin format to determine the top 8 teams that will advance to the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final. The prize for the champion is a trophy and 6 million VND, in addition to second and third place prizes, as well as supplementary awards such as top scorer, best goalkeeper, and most enthusiastic fan club.

The organizers presented the rotating flag to the participating teams.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from March 5th to April 23rd. Following two successful editions, the 3rd Nghe Tinh Open Football Tournament is not only organized on a larger scale and more professionally, but also features more participating teams and receives strong support from the community.

The Nghe Tinh Open Football Tournament is a place for people from Nghe An living in the South to meet, interact, strengthen solidarity, promote mass sports movements, and preserve and promote the cultural identity of their homeland.
