200 hectares of spring vegetable crops in Anh Son (Nghe An) yield high income.

Ms. Bui Thi Hue from Hamlet 5, Cam Son Commune, planted 3 sao (approximately 0.3 hectares) of pumpkin leaves this spring for harvesting. With stable prices of 5-6 thousand dong per bunch, she expects this area to bring her an income of over 10 million dong per season.

In the spring of 2016, Anh Son district cultivated 200 hectares of various vegetables, with a high concentration in the communes of Hoa Son, Cam Son, Lang Son, and Thach Son. In addition to traditional vegetables, farmers also focused on cultivating new varieties to diversify their produce, such as gourds, watermelons, loofahs, cucumbers, and eggplants.

Besides growing traditional vegetables, farmers in Anh Son also focus on finding new varieties to cultivate in order to diversify their products, such as gourds, watermelons, cucumbers, eggplants, etc.

Currently, the prices of vegetables grown by farmers are very good: green eggplant is priced at 15,000 VND/kg; cucumbers at 15,000 VND/kg; pumpkins at 5,000 VND/kg; and pumpkin leaves at 5,000 VND/bundle. The estimated total income from spring vegetable crops is 50-60 million VND/ha.

Currently, Anh Son district is directing farmers to boost production according to food safety and hygiene standards, especially increasing the area of ​​off-season vegetables and crops to improve productivity, quality, and economic efficiency.
