200 thousand tons of goods exported through Cua Lo port

(Baonghean.vn) - In the first quarter of 2016, 840,000 tons passed through Cua Lo port, including 200,000 tons of exported goods including cement, equipment and agricultural products.

According to Nghe Tinh Port, the volume of goods passing through the port in the first quarter of 2016 reached 708,759 tons, achieving 21.5% of the 2016 plan, reaching 102% compared to the same period in 2015.

Of which, export goods are 200,000 tons, accounting for 22.6%; import goods are 50,000 tons, accounting for 5%; domestic goods are 550,000 tons, accounting for 65.7%, transit goods account for 6.5% of total goods output.

The structure of goods increased through the port in the first quarter shows: Clinker: in the first 3 months of the year, the output of this item reached 68,132 tons (in the same period in 2015, this item did not exist). Equipment goods reached 14,004 tons, an increase of 143.6% compared to the same period in 2015 due to the source of equipment goods to Laos. In addition, wood chips, tapioca flour, and steel sheets were exported.

Container cargo also achieved quite well with 246,818 tons, an increase of 16% compared to the same period in 2015 due to the addition of a new shipping line (Vinafco) operating at Cua Lo Port. However, according to Mr. Nguyen Danh Hai, Head of Sales Department of Nghe Tinh Port Company, the source of goods is raw stone reduced to the maximum through the port because the government prohibits the export of raw stone.
