(Baonghean.vn) - The final match and closing ceremony of the 4th Nghe An Hometown Football Tournament - Nghe League 2015, Northern Region, recently took place at the 88 Le Van Luong football field in Hanoi.

Attendees included Mr. Le Doan Hop - former Minister of Information and Communications; Mr. Hoang Xuan Luong - former Deputy Minister and Vice Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities; and representatives of the Nghe An Provincial Association in Hanoi.

The tournament took place over 7 weeks with the participation of nearly 400 athletes from 24 teams from districts, towns, and cities of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces.

In the final results, FC Anh Son won the championship, FC Choa Cu Gau from Dien Hanh - Dien Chau came in second, and FC Thanh Vinh took third place.

In addition, the organizing committee also awarded the Most Popular Team award to FC Tan Ky, the Fair Play award to FC Dien Lam, the Top Scorer award to striker Duc Manh of FC Anh Son, the Best Player award to striker Tran Xuan of FC Choa Cu Gau, and the Best Goalkeeper award to goalkeeper Doan Tuan of FC Thanh Vinh.

Although it was just an amateur tournament, the Nghe League 2015 was conducted professionally and with high discipline. To participate, two teams traveled to Hanoi weekly to compete, and even more remarkably, a cheering squad of over 60 people traveled nearly 300km from Dien Hanh - Dien Chau to Hanoi to support their local team in the final match. The tournament also provided an opportunity for those who had left their hometown to meet, socialize, and support each other in their studies, work, and life.

With 52 matches played, 168 goals scored, and countless spectacular plays, the tournament provided fans with a unique source of entertainment every weekend. The football tournament concluded with a mix of emotions, and also created a beneficial playground for the Nghe An community in the heart of the capital. The identity of the people of Nghe An, already united, has been further strengthened and consolidated.
