25 clubs participated in the 2016 Nghe Tinh Folk Song Festival.
(Baonghean.vn) - Evening16/10,The opening ceremony of the Nghe Tinh folk song festival took place at the Nghe An Provincial Labor Culture House.2016.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Le Dinh Son - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee; and Dao Dang Hoan - Deputy Director of the Department of Performing Arts - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Representing Nghe An province were: Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Minh Thong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and representatives from provincial departments, agencies, and organizations, as well as districts, cities, and towns.

In his opening remarks at the Festival, Comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province - affirmed: The 2016 Nghe Tinh Folk Song Festival, organized by the People's Committee of Nghe An province in coordination with the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province, aims to further develop grassroots folk song clubs, implement the national action program and international commitments on preserving and promoting the value of intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

The festival featured the participation of 25 clubs, including 16 clubs from Nghe An province that won first, second, and third prizes at the cluster-level festivals (held from September 12-25) and 9 clubs from Ha Tinh province.

This festival primarily showcases the folk songs and dances of the Ví and Giặm genres, reviving the lives of the people and the diverse performance spaces of this art form. It's also an opportunity for artists to meet, exchange ideas, learn from each other, and introduce new melodies; at the same time, it's a gathering, creating a warm atmosphere for those creating grassroots art in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the leaders and people of Nghe An province, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - presented Ha Tinh province with a donation of 200 million VND to help overcome the severe consequences of the recent floods.

The 2016 Nghe Tinh Folk Song Festival will run until October 19th with many activities such as performances by clubs and public performances in the following localities: Ha Tinh City, Nam Dan District (Nghe An) and Hong Linh Town, Nghi Xuan District (Ha Tinh).
