290 young men from western communes of Nghe An province are enlisting in the army.
On the morning of March 5th, in Tuong Duong commune, the Military Command of Defense Zone 4 – Tuong Duong organized the 2026 military enlistment ceremony (enlistment point number 4). This year, 290 outstanding young men from 21 communes in western Nghe An province enlisted in the army, demonstrating the sense of responsibility and aspiration of the youth to contribute to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Attending the ceremony were: Comrade Nguyen Dinh Hung – Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province; Comrade Le Van Luong – Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Tuong Duong commune; Colonel Nguyen Cong Luc – Deputy Commander of the Provincial Border Guard Command; Lieutenant Colonel Tran Trung Dung – Head of Logistics and Technical Department, Provincial Military Command; Lieutenant Colonel Lo Thanh Nhu – Member of the Provincial Military Party Committee, Commander of the Military Command of Defense Zone 4 – Tuong Duong.

In 2026, 290 citizens from 21 communes, including Muong Xen, Huu Kiem, Nam Can, Chieu Luu, Na Loi, Muong Tip, Na Ngoi, My Ly, Bac Ly, Keng Du, Huoi Tu, Muong Long, Tam Quang, Tam Thai, Luong Minh, Yen Na, Yen Hoa, Nga My, Huu Khuong, Nhon Mai, and Tuong Duong, will enlist for military service and People's Public Security service. Of these, 250 young men will perform military service and 40 will join the People's Public Security force.

The new recruits will be assigned to the following units: 324th Division; 764th Regiment (Provincial Military Command); Tam Quang Border Guard Post; Nam Can Border Guard Post; Military School of Military Region 4; Armored Corps; Navy; General Department of Logistics and Nghe An Provincial Police.
The recruitment and conscription of citizens into the military is carried out strictly and in accordance with regulations by local authorities, ensuring democracy, transparency, and legality. The majority of young people enlisting are children of ethnic minorities in the highlands, carrying with them the pride and tradition of solidarity of western Nghe An province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Dinh Hung – Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, emphasized: “Western Nghe An is a strategic border region, holding a particularly important position in the national defense and security posture. For generations, the people of various ethnic groups here have always united wholeheartedly under the Party, protecting the land, forests, and villages, contributing to the firm protection of national sovereignty and consolidating the people's support. The 290 young people from 21 communes enlisting in the army this year not only demonstrate the sense of responsibility of the youth but also serve as proof of the stability and unity of the political system and the people after the restructuring of the two-level local government apparatus.”
The comrade also conveyed a message to the new recruits: wearing the soldier's uniform is not only a great honor but also a sacred responsibility to the Fatherland, the People, and their families. The young soldiers must be absolutely loyal to the Fatherland; strictly abide by military and police discipline; actively study, train, and improve their skills; be united and loving towards their comrades; and be ready to accept and excellently complete all assigned tasks. The Party Committee, the government, and the armed forces of the province are committed to continuing to closely coordinate with military and police units and families to care for, educate, train, and create favorable conditions for the new recruits to mature comprehensively and become a core force in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
