Three companies of the Nghe An Youth Volunteer Force received the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 12th, the Provincial Association of Former Youth Volunteers held a ceremony to commemorate the 68th anniversary of the Vietnamese Youth Volunteers' Traditional Day (July 15th, 1950 - July 15th, 2018) and to receive the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces for three collectives: Company 333, Company 202, and Company 168 of the Nghe An Youth Volunteer Force.
Attending the ceremony, on the central delegation side were Comrade Cu Van Phien - Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Former Youth Volunteers; representatives from the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Transport, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union…
Representing Nghe An province were: Mr. Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Le Minh Thong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives from Military Region 4, the Emulation and Commendation Board, relevant departments and agencies, and a large number of members of the Provincial Association of Former Youth Volunteers.
Born from the flames of the resistance war against the French, the Vietnamese Youth Volunteer Force has continuously grown and matured. From the first Youth Volunteer Team with 225 cadres and members, through two resistance wars, the whole country has over 500,000 Youth Volunteers.
Along with the Youth Volunteer Force nationwide, the Nghe An Youth Volunteer Force, with over 50,000 cadres and members, inherited and promoted the resilient and indomitable traditions of the Soviet homeland, leading the way in all tasks. During the resistance war against the French, thousands of Nghe An Youth Volunteer members directly participated in and contributed to the glorious victory at Dien Bien Phu.
After completing their mission on the battlefield, the Nghe An Youth Volunteer Force, which fought against the French, continued its work of healing the wounds of war and restoring the country's economy. During the resistance war against the US, more than 40,000 Nghe An Youth Volunteers ensured smooth traffic flow on thousands of kilometers of national highways, provincial roads, waterways, and railways.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Minh Thong affirmed that the achievements of the Youth Volunteer Force over the past 68 years have made a worthy contribution to the cause of national defense, construction and development. However, currently, the lives of many former Youth Volunteers are still facing difficulties; some organizations and associations are not operating effectively…

Looking ahead, Comrade Le Minh Thong suggested that all levels of the Association of Former Youth Volunteers, and all levels and sectors, continue to strengthen political and ideological education for cadres and members; promote propaganda and encourage cadres and members to participate in many activities to express gratitude to heroic martyrs and those who have contributed to the revolution; continue to promote the "Comradeship and Solidarity" program, encouraging members to borrow capital from the "Comradeship and Solidarity" fund for production and business, creating many economic models to improve their lives.
In addition, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that all levels and sectors pay more attention to the implementation of policies and regulations for Youth Volunteer Corps members and officials.
At the ceremony, on behalf of the President of Vietnam, the Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh presented the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to the collectives of Company 333, Company 202, and Company 168 of the Nghe An Youth Volunteer Force for their outstanding achievements in the resistance war against the US to save the country.
