Three suspects who beat a male student to death have turned themselves in.
After committing the crime, the group fled the area. Following persuasion from the police, all three surrendered.
On the evening of November 14th, the Phước Long Town Police in Bình Phước Province announced that three individuals involved in the assault on Nguyễn Thời D (17 years old, a student at Phước Long High School), which resulted in his death, have surrendered and confessed to their crimes. The police are currently continuing their investigation into the case.
Three individuals were detained by the police for investigation: Nguyen Thanh Vinh, Pham Hong Thai, and Chu Van Tien (all 18 years old, residing in Long Thuy ward, Phuoc Long town). On the afternoon of November 12th, after school, Nguyen Thoi D and Ho Minh L (17 years old, residing in Phuoc Tin commune, Phuoc Long town) went to the back gate of the school to go home when they encountered a group consisting of Vinh, Thai, and Tien. This group asked D to come to the road next to the Phuoc Long Town People's Court to talk. D agreed, and L invited Lu Van T (18 years old, residing in Long Thuy ward), who knew Vinh's group, to join them.
Both groups rode their motorbikes to the meeting point. As soon as they stopped, Vinh used a hard object to repeatedly hit D. on the head. Seeing this, L. and T. rushed in to intervene but were also attacked by Vinh's group. The incident only stopped when someone came to separate them.
D.'s group, fearing further assault, went into a shop to drink water. Afterwards, D. returned home and complained of dizziness and vomiting, so his family took him to the Phước Long Town Medical Center for emergency treatment, and then he was transferred to the Bình Phước Provincial General Hospital. There, doctors concluded that D. had died from brain death.
