3 women plotted to sell their neighbors abroad

On March 24, Tuong Duong District Police (Nghe An) announced that the unit had just successfully discovered a human trafficking case, prosecuting 03 defendants all residing in Yen Hoa commune, Tuong Duong district, who areVi Thi Xuan, born in 1964, Lo Thi Tham, born in 1978 and Lo Thi Le, born in 1976; the victim sold to China was Ms. VTH, born in 1983, from the same locality.

Previously, in early 2020, through the work of grasping the situation, Tuong Duong District Police discovered suspicions of human trafficking occurring in Yen Hoa Commune, Tuong Duong District. Therefore, the unit established a special project to fight. By March 19, 2020, the District Police arrested the above 3 subjects for human trafficking.

At the investigation agency, the subjects admitted to their crimes, together seducing and deceiving Ms. VTH to sell her to China to marry for 50,000 yuan (about 165 million VND).

Specifically, around February 2016, Ms. VTH (1983) residing in Tuong Duong district, due to a conflict with her husband, left home to find a job. During the process of finding a job, Ms. VTH met Lo Thi Le and Lo Thi Tham in Vinh City. Here, Le and Tham proposed to Ms. H that if she wanted to be happy, she should marry a Chinese man, and Ms. H agreed. Then, Tham called Ms. Vi Thi Xuan, born in 1964 (married to a Chinese man) to Le's house to meet Ms. H and Tham. Here, all three people, Ms. Xuan, Le, and Tham, told Ms. H that they would take her to China to get married and Ms. H would receive 80 million VND.

After that, Ms. Xuan agreed with Tham and Le that if they could be sold to China for marriage, she would pay Le and Tham 5 million VND each. The next day, Ms. Xuan and Ms. H went to Khe Bo intersection in Tam Quang commune, Tuong Duong district, then took a bus to Mong Cai border gate, Quang Ninh province.

When they reached Mong Cai border gate, Ms. Xuan and Ms. H were guided by a man to cross the border into China and then took a bus to the house of a Vietnamese woman. Here, this woman and Ms. Xuan sold Ms. Hong to the Chinese man for 50,000 Chinese Yuan. Ms. Xuan was then paid 25 million VND and returned to Vietnam.

Back in Vietnam, Ms. Xuan called Le and Tham to her house in Yen Hoa commune, Tuong Duong district and gave Le and Tham 5,000,000 VND each. Ms. H stayed in China until May 2017 when she escaped to Vietnam.

Currently, Tuong Duong District Police are detaining 3 suspects Vi Thi Xuan, Lo Thi Tham, and Lo Thi Le.
