3 female students from Dong Nai who were reported missing have been found. |
On November 7, Phan Tam Nhu (12 years old, 7th grade student, Nguyen Van Troi Secondary School) and Nguyen Thanh Ngan (a classmate of Nhu, residing in Tan Van Ward, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai) were contacted by their families with the Chon Thanh District authorities to bring them home.
Previously, on the evening of November 5, Le My Ngoc (12 years old, in the same class as Nhu) called her family to inform them that the three of them were living near the site of the Binh Phuoc massacre and that her family had come to pick her up.
As previously reported, on the morning of October 18, the families of the three female students received information from the school that their children did not attend school. When they did not return home that evening, the families split up to look for them but could not find any trace of them.
On November 2, Ngoc's family received a text message from a stranger who said he was a motorbike taxi driver and saw Ngoc and Nhu with a woman, who later forced them into debt at a casino in Cambodia. If the family wanted to see their children again, they would have to bring money to ransom them.
Too scared, the families of these two female students filed a complaint with the authorities.
Receiving the information, Dong Nai province authorities have started an investigation. Currently, the police are taking statements from all three female students to clarify the cause.
