Thi's experience, calmness, gentleness, and kindness attracted Ngoc Ha (played by People's Artist Lan Huong 'Em Be Ha Noi'), a student from a wealthy family. Thi and Ngoc Ha became lovers and then got married despite their differences in background and living conditions.
Thi’s life became more leisurely after graduating and being retained by the university as a lecturer. His excellent academic and research achievements gave him the opportunity to study abroad for a master’s and then a doctorate. After being away from her husband for a long time, Thi’s wife fell in love with another man. Thi’s return could not reconcile them. His life in his twilight years became sad when his wife took their child abroad with her lover.
His natural acting and ability to transform into the character Thi helped Quoc Tuan continue to win the affection of television viewers. In the 1995-1996 television drama poll for viewers organized by VTV, Quoc Tuan received the Best Actor award for this role.
Kien in 'The trumpeter and the village chief'
The Conch Blower was directed by Phi Tien Son in 2001. The film consists of 5 episodes with the following themes: Blind Cat Catches Fried Fish, Straw Power, Stone Trouble, The King's Law Loses Village Rules, Raising Bees in Your Sleeves, and Good People Are Rewarded.
In contrast to the image of a scholar or soldier in previous films, Quoc Tuan plays a simple, naive farmer in the film The Village Chief. Quoc Tuan's character, named Kien, has a cheerful, humorous personality and is loved by many people. He had no intention of running for village chief but was elected by many people.
With no experience and a simple, rustic lifestyle, Kien encountered many funny situations when he took on the role of village chief. However, his efforts in building the village were always appreciated and recognized by the villagers.

This is the first comedy role Quoc Tuan has taken on in his career. His acting was so natural that the real farmers and village chiefs present at the scene commented that he acted as if he wasn’t acting. Many years after the film aired, the actor still remembers the humorous situations during filming.
After The Condor, Quoc Tuan rarely participated in TV dramas to have more time to take care of and treat his only son who has a rare disease. In recent years, he has switched to being a director at Vietnam Feature Film Studio.
