(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of May 25, the Agricultural Extension Station of Quynh Luu district (Nghe An) coordinated with Quynh Van commune to release 30,000 fish.Duong Nghiep tilapiabelonging to the tilapia farming project following VietGap guidelines associated with product consumption in the commune's concentrated fish farming area.

This is a fish farming project that meets food safety, environmental safety, and disease safety standards, meeting the increasingly high demands of the domestic and export markets. Mr. Le Thanh Dieu and Mrs. Ho Thi Nga, in Hamlet 9, Quynh Van, are two households that boldly registered to implement this project with a stocking area of ​​1 hectare, a stocking density of 3 fish/m2, and the number of fish released is 30,000 fish.

Duong Nghiep tilapia is a commercial fish with a growth rate twice as high as the Giep tilapia that households often raise. After about 8 months of raising, the fish can reach a weight of 1.2 to 2 kg/fish. If the technical requirements for raising are met, the potential yield can reach 3 to 4 kg/fish. This Duong Nghiep tilapia has the characteristics of a long body, thick back, delicious meat, suitable for exporting in fillet form to European markets.

After releasing the fish, the owner sprinkles disease prevention medicine into the pond.

Participating in the project, 2 households will be supported 100% of the cost of seeds, 30% of the cost of food, and medicines to prevent diseases. After being treated for shock and resuscitation for 3 to 4 hours, the fish will be released into large ponds to gradually adapt to the local water and climate conditions. The agricultural extension station will send staff to supervise and guide the households on farming techniques until the fish reach maturity, then evaluate the effectiveness of the model and replicate it on a large scale.
