This is a fish farming project adhering to food safety, environmental safety, and disease safety standards, meeting the increasingly high demands of both domestic and export markets. Mr. Le Thanh Dieu and Ms. Ho Thi Nga, residing in Hamlet 9, Quynh Van Commune, are two households that boldly registered to participate in this project, with a farming area of ​​1 hectare, a stocking density of 3 fish per square meter, and a total of 30,000 fingerlings released.

The Đường Nghiệp tilapia is a commercially viable fish with a growth rate twice as high as the Giep striped tilapia commonly raised by local farmers. After about 8 months of farming, the fish can reach a weight of 1.2 to 2 kg/fish. If the technical requirements for farming are met, the potential yield can reach 3 to 4 kg/fish. This Đường Nghiệp tilapia variety has a long body, thick back, and delicious meat, making it suitable for export as fillets to European markets.

Participating in the project, two households received 100% of the cost of fingerlings, 30% of the cost of feed, and disease prevention medications. After being treated for shock and tuberculosis prevention for 3 to 4 hours, the fish were released into larger ponds to gradually adapt to the local water and climate conditions. The agricultural extension station will send staff to supervise and provide technical guidance on fish farming to the households until the fish reach maturity, after which the effectiveness of the model will be evaluated and expanded to a larger scale.

The total cost of this project is over 150 million VND.
