Four officials of a people's credit fund in Nghe An province have been arrested urgently.
(Baonghean.vn) - While in office, Nguyen Thanh Cong instructed several individuals in the Nghi Hoa Commune People's Credit Fund to falsify numerous loan applications in order to withdraw funds for personal use.
On October 28, the People's Procuratorate of Nghe An province announced that it had approved the decisions to prosecute, search warrants, and arrest warrants for temporary detention in the embezzlement case that occurred at the Nghi Hoa Commune People's Credit Fund, Nghi Loc district.
Four people were arrested for embezzlement: Nguyen Thanh Cong (born 1955, former Director of the Nghi Hoa Commune People's Credit Fund, Nghi Loc District); Dang Van Thanh (born 1968, Deputy Director of the Credit Fund); Tran Thi Ngoc Ha (born 1980, Chief Accountant of the Credit Fund); and Tran Thi Ha Phuong (born 1995, employee of the Credit Fund). All suspects reside in Nghi Hoa Commune, Nghi Loc District.

Initial investigations have determined that, while in office, Nguyen Thanh Cong directed several individuals within his organization.Credit FundHe fabricated numerous loan applications to withdraw money for personal expenses; the total outstanding debt as of October 16, 2020, was 23,616,515,000 VND. Due to his inability to repay the debt, Nguyen Thanh Cong continued to direct the creation of fraudulent documents to settle previous loans.

The investigation proved that Cong instructed Thanh, Ha, and Phuong to create seven fraudulent loan applications under the names of borrowers Pham Thi Thanh Thuy, Le Thi Sam, Nguyen Thi Huong, Le Thi Loan, Nguyen Thi Anh Dao, Nguyen Van Dong, and Pham Thi Man in order to disburse and embezzle 1,365,000,000 VND.
The handwriting analysis concluded that the signatures and handwriting on the documents in all seven loan application files belonged to Nguyen Thanh Cong, Dang Van Thanh, Tran Thi Ngoc Ha, and Tran Thi Ha Phuong.
Currently, four suspects have been taken into custody. The Criminal Investigation Department of the Nghe An Provincial Police is continuing the investigation and processing the case.
