4 reasons why you should limit your use of microwave ovens.

Here are some reasons to consider before deciding whether or not to use a microwave oven.

Microwave ovens are one of the most purchased and widely used appliances in the past few decades because they are incredibly convenient and save time and energy for your family. It would be difficult to give up such an essential item in life.

However, consider the following reasons to decide whether or not to use a microwave oven.

1. Electromagnetic energy

Microwaves are a form of electromagnetic energy, similar to light or radio waves. They are very short waves of electromagnetic energy and travel at the speed of light (186,282 miles per second).

When in operation, microwave ovens generate magnetrons, which are absorbed by water, fats, sugars, and other organic substances. These food molecules are typically in the form of electric dipoles (one end negatively charged and the other positively charged). These dipoles in food tend to rotate so that they are parallel to the direction of the external electric field. All this movement creates intermolecular friction and heats the food. During this process, intermolecular friction also causes significant damage to surrounding molecules, often tearing them apart or deforming them. Microwave cooking can destroy and alter the molecular structure of food due to radiation.

2. Harmful effects from packaged foods

Microwave-heated food packaged in plastic, cellophane, cardboard, and styrofoam can release toxins harmful to the body, even carcinogens such as adipate, phthalate, and benzophenone. These toxins (found in label printing ink, plastics, etc.) leach into the food during cooking. Because most of these packaging materials do not melt or heat up during microwave use, consumers mistakenly believe they are non-toxic. These toxins can cause hormonal imbalances, reduce sperm count, and contribute to various types of cancer.

In particular, avoid using microwave ovens to cook smoked or marinated meats because these foods contain a lot of nitrites, which, when cooked in a microwave, produce nitrosamines, a very potent carcinogen.

3. Electromagnetic fields (EMF) and radiation

Numerous studies have investigated EMFs (electromagnetic fields) generated by household electrical appliances, including microwave ovens. Dr. David Carpenter of the New York University School of Public Health believes that 30% of all childhood cancers are caused by exposure to EMFs.

A Gauss meter is an instrument used to measure EMFs. During his research, David measured EMF leaks while using a microwave oven and found leaks up to six feet high. Therefore, for safety, it's best to stand away from a microwave oven while it's running.

4. New compounds are formed in your body.

Besides nutrient loss, microwaves also produce new compounds (radiolytic compounds) that are not yet known to humans or nature. Even if we don't fully understand and know exactly what these compounds will do to the human body, do you really want the compounds in your food to be altered? Do your own research and share this information with others.
