4 main reasons why cars are "sluggish" and have difficulty accelerating

(Baonghean.vn) - The phenomenon of cars showing signs of not being as "powerful" as in the early days comes from many causes; the core comes from irregular maintenance, lack of driving skills causing the above situation... According to many car experts, weak engines can come from the following reasons.

1. Due to air filter

The cause may come from the air filter not being cleaned or replaced for a long time, so dust sticks to it, the amount of air supplied to the engine is not enough, causing the vehicle to operate poorly.

You can check, clean and replace the new air filter yourself to get the engine back to normal.

2. Spark plug

Spark plug is the last part of the ignition system. Therefore, it has a very important task of generating a spark between two electrodes (center electrode and grounded side electrode) to ignite the air-gasoline mixture from the carburetor that has been fed into the combustion chamber.

A weak, poorly performing car may be due to loose spark plugs or using spark plugs that are not of the correct type from the manufacturer, causing poor ignition. Therefore, you should check the spark plugs and use the correct type for the car.

3. Ignition timing is incorrect

When the engine is running and there is a phenomenon of detonation when the throttle is high, the idle mode is unstable, the vehicle consumes a lot of fuel, the engine heats up quickly, and sometimes there is a phenomenon like backfire. That is a sign that the ignition is too early.

When the ignition system creates a spark too late compared to the time the engine needs, it often causes phenomena such as high engine temperature; there is an explosion in the exhaust pipe because the gasoline is not completely burned and continues to burn when it goes out the exhaust pipe; causing fuel consumption, the engine is "overwhelmed" with gasoline because it is not burned in time, making the vehicle unable to accelerate...

The cause of this condition is due to incorrect ignition and screw clearance being too small. The engine needs to be reset and the screw clearance adjusted.

4. Due to fuel pressure

Fuel pressure is responsible for keeping the pressure difference between the fuel in the distribution pipe and the air inside the intake manifold at a constant value. Then the ECU controls the injector to open at a certain time and sprays out the same amount of fuel as the ECU "calculates". If the pressure difference is different (due to a broken pressure regulator), when the injector is opened at the same time, the amount of fuel sprayed out will be different from the calculation.

This will cause excess or lack of gasoline, making the engine operate unstably and may weaken visibly.
