On November 11, 2017,An Su-22 of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) crashed near the city of Sarvestan, located in the south of the country. According to the Iranian Air Force Public Relations Department, the plane crashed during a training flight, killing the pilot. However, the Department did not reveal more about the cause of the incident. According to Tasnim News Agency, technical problems could be the main reason for the Su-22 crash.
