5 new features on the newly launched Honda Air Blade 2016

Honda still retains the 125cc eSP engine but the capacity is increased, the weight is also reduced by 3 kg and the appearance has changed significantly.

1. Full LED headlight cluster

The 2016 Air Blade version is equipped with all LED front lights. LED technology helps increase illumination while saving more energy than traditional halogen or bi-xenon lights.

Meanwhile, the 3rd generation Air Blade in Vietnam uses a dual projector headlight cluster, allowing 2 bulbs to light up at the same time in 2 modes (low beam - high beam).

In addition, the LED headlights on the 4th generation Air Blade also help the front end to be slimmer, 24% smaller than the previous generation. Although LED technology is not new, not many car models in Vietnam use it. In addition, the sports version also has LED lights around the keyhole to help insert the key into the lock easily in the dark.

2. Sturdy and shorter design

The new Air Blade is designed in a completely new language, more angular and sturdy than the previous generation. If you just take a quick look, you can see that the sturdy lines that appeared on the first generation have been used again, however, the Air Blade 2016 is significantly thicker than the first version.

The new design of Air Blade helps reduce the length of the vehicle compared to the old version. Air Blade 2016 is only 1,881 mm long, while this number on the old version is 1,901 mm. The width of the vehicle remains at 687 mm, while the height is 1,111 mm, a decrease of 4 mm (the old version is 1,115 mm).

3. Lighter weight

Honda Air Blade 2016 applies new manufacturing technology, the frame is made of lighter materials, while still ensuring firmness. The total weight of Air Blade 2016 is 110 kg, while the old version weighs 113 kg (3 kg less).

4. More powerful engine

Although still using the 125cc, 4-stroke, 1-cylinder, liquid-cooled eSP engine, combined with electronic fuel injection, the new engine block has higher performance. The 2015 Air Blade has a maximum capacity of 8.2 kW, while the new version is increased to 8.4 kW.

The acceleration of the new Air Blade is also better. According to the manufacturer, when accelerating from 0-200 m, the 2016 Air Blade is twice the length of the previous generation (about 4 m). The new engine is also 4% more fuel efficient than the previous generation.

5. Add more genuine parts

For the first time, Honda offers genuine tuning parts for the Air Blade. Previously, they did not focus on this field, so enthusiasts had to import accessories from abroad at quite expensive prices.
