Five high-ranking military generals have been relieved of their positions as Deputy Ministers of National Defense and Deputy Chiefs of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed decisions relieving five army generals from their positions as Deputy Minister of National Defense and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.
Specifically, in Decisions 343/QD-TTg, 347/QD-TTg, 348/QD-TTg, and 349/QD-TTg dated February 26, 2026, the Prime Minister decided that four Lieutenant Generals, members of the Central Committee of the 13th Party Congress: Hoang Xuan Chien, Le Huy Vinh, Vo Minh Luong, and Vu Hai San, would cease to hold the position of Deputy Minister of National Defense and retire from their duties effective March 1, 2026.
In Decision No. 346/QD-TTg dated February 26, 2026, the Prime Minister decided that Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang - Member of the Central Committee of the 13th Party Congress - would cease to hold the position of Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and retire from service effective March 1, 2026.
