Priced from over 100 to 300 million VND, high-end scooters from Honda, Piaggio, and Peugeot may appeal to a niche market, but they are not without buyers.

Most customers looking to buy premium scooters today want a luxurious vehicle with advanced technology and personalization options. Importantly, money becomes a minor factor, because when owning a premium scooter, consumers prioritize satisfaction over following the crowd.

Here are 5 luxury scooters, each costing hundreds of millions of Vietnamese dong, currently being sold in Vietnam.

The Vespa 946 was officially launched in Vietnam in 2013. Since then, Piaggio Vietnam has also brought in many different versions of this super scooter model with prices starting from 340 million VND.

The Vespa 946 features soft lines derived from the 1945 MP6 prototype, with the distinctive bumblebee-like shape characteristic of all Vespa models. The most striking design element of the Vespa 946 is its rear body, which slopes sharply forward, the seat is steep, and the tail is upturned, just like a bumblebee's tail.

Piaggio has developed a new 4-stroke, single-cylinder, 3-valve engine and equipped it in the Vespa 946. According to Piaggio, this generation of engines offers better fuel efficiency and reduces emissions and noise.

Peugeot Satelis RS 400 - 280 million VND

In 2016, the French motorcycle brand announced its return to the Vietnamese market for its scooter line after 60 years. Three models were introduced: the Django 125cc, the CityStar RS 125cc, and the Satelis RS 400cc. Of these, the Satelis RS 400cc is the most premium and expensive model.

The Satelis RS 400cc boasts a rugged appearance with its headlight design featuring LED daytime running lights and a large seat back for comfortable long rides.
This model features a single-cylinder LFE engine with 4 valves, producing 27.4 kW (36.7 hp) at 7,250 rpm, and an ABS braking system with dual 260 mm disc brakes at the front and a single 240 mm disc brake at the rear. The price for the Satelis RS 400cc is 280 million VND.

Honda SH 300i - 248 million VND

Honda Vietnam officially launched the premium SH300i scooter, imported from Italy, late last year. This is a new step for Honda Vietnam in expanding its product portfolio to better meet consumer needs.

In terms of exterior appearance, the front and rear lights feature modern LED technology but are still based on the traditional lighting design of other models in the SH family. The 2016 SH300i has a smart key that can activate and start the engine even when the key is in your pocket.

The key differentiating feature of the SH300i compared to its younger siblings in the SH family is its powerful 279cc, single-cylinder, water-cooled engine with Honda's PMG FI electronic fuel injection technology. This engine can produce 25.2 horsepower and a maximum torque of 25.5 Nm. Fuel consumption is approximately 33.3 km/L.

Honda Vietnam aims to sell 400 SH300i scooters starting in 2017.

Piaggio Beverly 125 ie - 120 million VND

Introduced to Vietnam in 2010 with a price of 143 million VND, the Piaggio Beverly has not been as appealing to consumers as the Honda SH. Because of this, the name seems to have "disappeared" from the minds of Vietnamese consumers. Recently, however, this model has reappeared on Piaggio's price list.

The Piaggio Beverly is a mid-size scooter with a sporty design, agile handling, and high reliability and safety.

The vehicle is equipped with a 4-stroke, 125cc engine, producing 11kW of power and 12.5Nm of torque. It features an electronic fuel injection system that significantly reduces fuel consumption (-20%) and maintenance costs (-20%). Furthermore, the electronically controlled liquid cooling system (ECS) also contributes to reduced fuel consumption.

Vespa GTS 300 - 120 million VND

The 2017 Vespa GTS 300 ABS appeared in Piaggio Vietnam showrooms in July of this year with a price of 120 million VND. This price is approximately half that of the Honda SH300i (248 million VND). Being assembled domestically is a key factor contributing to the GTS 300's highly competitive price compared to the SH300i, which is imported as a complete unit.

The scooter measures 1,950 mm in length and 740 mm in width. It has an unladen weight of 160 kg and a fuel tank capacity of approximately 9 liters. The front suspension is a single-shock absorber with a telescopic spring, while the rear is a double-shock absorber with a telescopic spring and 4 adjustable positions. A front windscreen and a chrome-plated metal luggage rack at the rear are both optional features. A convenient USB charging port is included. LED daytime running lights are integrated with the turn signals, and the front fairing features an additional chrome trim.

The Vespa GTS 300 ABS is powered by a single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 4-valve, fuel-injected engine with a displacement of 278.3cc, producing a maximum power of 15.6 kW at 7,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 22 Nm at 5,000 rpm.
