Six officials from the Ministry of National Defense have stepped down from their leadership positions and are awaiting retirement.
On February 17, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh signed decisions regarding the resignation of six officials from the Ministry of National Defense from their leadership positions, pending retirement.
According to Decision No. 306/QD-TTg, Major General Bui To Viet will cease to hold the position of Deputy Political Commissar of the Air Defense - Air Force Command, Ministry of National Defense, and will retire from service effective May 1, 2025, to retire according to regulations effective May 1, 2026. During the period awaiting retirement, Major General Bui To Viet will retain all current benefits as stipulated in the regulations.

According to Decision No. 307/QD-TTg, Rear Admiral Phan Tuan Hung will cease to hold the position of Deputy Commander of the Navy, Ministry of National Defense, and will retire from service effective March 1, 2025, to retire according to regulations effective July 1, 2025. During the period awaiting retirement, Rear Admiral Phan Tuan Hung will retain all current benefits as stipulated in the regulations.
According to Decision No. 308/QD-TTg, Major General Dang Van Hung will cease to hold the position of Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Military Region 7, Ministry of National Defense, and will retire from service effective March 1, 2025, to retire according to regulations effective September 1, 2025. During the period awaiting retirement, Major General Dang Van Hung will retain all current benefits as stipulated in the regulations.
According to Decision No. 309/QD-TTg, Lieutenant General Tran Duy Giang will cease to hold the position of Director General of the General Department of Logistics, Ministry of National Defense, and will retire from service effective March 1, 2025, to retire according to regulations effective July 1, 2025. During the period awaiting retirement, Lieutenant General Tran Duy Giang will retain all current benefits as stipulated in the regulations.
According to Decision No. 310/QD-TTg, Major General Le Van Phuc will cease to hold the position of Deputy Commander of the Border Guard Force, Ministry of National Defense, and will retire from service effective May 1, 2025, to retire according to regulations effective January 1, 2026. During the period awaiting retirement, Major General Le Van Phuc will retain all current benefits as stipulated in the regulations.
According to Decision No. 311/QD-TTg, Major General Hoang Van Huu will cease to hold the position of Deputy Commander of Military Region 1, Ministry of National Defense, and will retire from service effective March 1, 2025. He will continue to serve as a National Assembly representative until the end of his term, after which he will retire according to regulations. During the period awaiting retirement, Major General Hoang Van Huu will retain all his current benefits as stipulated by current regulations.
