(Baonghean.vn) - Construction began in 2010, but the coastal dike project through Quynh Luu district remains unfinished. The road surface is uneven, and the drainage culverts are not functioning effectively.

For many years, the embankment surface has not been concreted, affecting the development of local coastal tourism.

The coastal dike in Quynh Luu district is over 6 km long, running through four communes: Quynh Nghia, Quynh Luong, Quynh Minh, and Quynh Bang. This project, funded by the government since 2010, aims to prevent saltwater intrusion, support tourism, and provide shelter from storms. However, to date, only nearly 4 km of the dike has been concreted.

The saltwater intrusion prevention and drainage sluice gates on the Quỳnh Lưu coastal dike, specifically the section passing through Quỳnh Nghĩa commune, are not functioning effectively, and the reinforcing steel has rusted.

The delayed completion of the project has affected the development of local tourism, especially since some of the saltwater intrusion prevention and drainage sluices along the dike are not functioning effectively, and some components are deteriorating.
