6 most recent haunting shipwrecks in Vietnam

(Baonghean.vn) - Regarding the sinking of the coal ship VTB 26 in the waters of Cua Lo (Nghe An), which killed 3 people, 4 crew members are still missing. Looking back over the past years, there have been continuous ship sinking incidents, causing loss of life and property.

1. Boat sinks in Ha Long Bay, 12 people die

2.Fateful birthday party at Din Ky floating restaurant, 16 people died

At 6:30 p.m. on May 20, 2011, a 2-story boat from the Din Ky tourist area, Cau Ngang branch, was carrying dozens of tourists eating and drinking, moving slowly on the Saigon River when it suddenly started to rain heavily with strong winds. While departing for the dock, about 100 meters from the shore, the boat suddenly swayed and capsized, killing 16 people, while 4 people were lucky enough to swim to shore and survive.

3. Can Gio ship sinks, 9 people die

At around 9pm on August 2, 2013, while on a journey from Go Cong Dong (Tien Giang) to Vung Tau, the H29-BP canoe carrying 30 people suddenly sank in Ganh Rai Bay. The accident caused the 30 people on board to drift at sea for many hours. The tragic capsize took the lives of 9 people, the rescue team was only able to save 21 people, including 2 foreigners.

4. Thao Van 2 boat carrying 56 people capsized on Han River

At 8:00 p.m. on June 4, 2016, on the Han River, a tourist boat carrying 56 people, including 53 passengers and 3 crew members, suddenly capsized. It is known that the boat only had 28 seats but carried 56 people. There were life jackets on the boat, but most people were not given them, so no one was wearing a life jacket when the boat capsized and sank. The accident killed 3 people, including 2 children.

5. Hai Thanh 26 ship sank, 9 people died

At 11:55 p.m. on March 27, 2017, the Hai Thanh 26 BLC ship with a tonnage of over 3,000 tons, carrying 11 crew members, was transporting goods from Hai Phong City to Can Tho City. When entering the sea area 44 nautical miles east of Vung Tau, due to a collision with another ship, the Hai Thanh ship sank, and all 11 crew members on board fell into the water. 6. Festival boat sinks in Bac Lieu

At around 10:00 a.m. on April 6, 2017, a boat with license plate BL 93.322 owned by Ms. Nguyen Thi Loi and piloted by Doan Thanh Nam (born in 1982, residing in Hamlet 2, Ganh Hao town, Ms. Loi's son) was carrying 39 people to attend the festival. The boat sank, killing 3 people.
