(Baonghean.vn) - Regarding the sinking of the coal ship VTB 26 in the Cua Lo sea area (Nghe An province), which resulted in 3 deaths, 4 crew members are still missing. Looking back over the years, there have been continuous incidents of ship sinking, causing losses of life and property.

| At 6:30 PM on May 20, 2011, a two-story boat belonging to the Dìn Ký tourist resort, Cầu Ngang branch, carrying dozens of tourists who were eating and drinking, was moving slowly on the Saigon River when it was suddenly hit by heavy rain and strong winds. While heading towards the dock, about 100 meters from the shore, the boat suddenly swayed and capsized, resulting in 16 deaths. Four people were fortunate enough to swim to shore and survive. |

| At approximately 9 PM on August 2, 2013, while en route from Go Cong Dong (Tien Giang province) to Vung Tau, the speedboat H29-BP, carrying 30 people, unexpectedly sank in Ganh Rai Bay. The accident left the 30 people adrift at sea for several hours. This tragic capsizing claimed the lives of 9 people; rescue forces only managed to save 21, including 2 foreigners. |

While in waters 44 nautical miles east of Vung Tau, due to a collision with another vessel, the Hai Thanh sank, and all 11 crew members fell into the water. | At approximately 10:00 AM on April 6, 2017, the boat with registration number BL 93.322, owned by Ms. Nguyen Thi Loi and piloted by Doan Thanh Nam (born in 1982, residing in Hamlet 2, Ganh Hao town, Ms. Loi's son), was carrying 39 people participating in a festival. The boat sank, resulting in 3 fatalities. |
