60 million Vietnamese people searched for information about private homes.
According to the 2017 real estate market report and real estate search behavior, detached houses were the most searched-for type of property, with 60 million searches.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Anh, Deputy General Director of batdongsan.com.vn, stated that research on the behavior of people searching for real estate information on this website shows that the highest proportion of people searching for real estate information in Vietnam are aged 25-34, accounting for 52%; followed by those aged 18-24. The group over 65 years old searches for real estate information the least.

The report also stated that in 2017, men were more interested in real estate than women, with a rate of 52% (compared to 48% for women). Ho Chi Minh City had the highest number of people searching for real estate-related information at 48.3%, followed by Hanoi at 27.2%, and Da Nang at only 4.2%.
According to the report, the highest volume of housing transactions occurred in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in the second quarter with over 15,400 successful transactions, compared to over 13,600 successful transactions in the first quarter. The market slowed down in the third quarter, with over 12,400 successful transactions. It is predicted that the fourth quarter will see a large volume of transactions, but it is unlikely to surpass the second-quarter levels. Transactions involving apartments in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will account for the majority of these transactions.
In 2017, people searched for real estate more than in 2015 and 2016. Private houses were the most searched type, with 60 million searches. Residential land was the second most searched type, with over 50 million searches. Next came apartments, with over 45 million searches. Tourism and resort properties were the least searched type, with fewer than 10 million searches.
In Hanoi, the largest proportion of people are interested in apartments at 38%; followed by detached houses at 27%, residential land at 19%; townhouses at 6%; and villas and terraced houses at 7%...
Meanwhile, in Ho Chi Minh City, the highest proportion of people interested in private houses is 37%; followed by apartments at 23%; residential land at 17%; townhouses at 12%; and project land at 8%...
In 2017, within the apartment real estate market, in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the highest proportion of interest was in mid-range apartments, at 54% and 56% respectively. The affordable apartment segment ranked second, at 32% in Hanoi and 28% in Ho Chi Minh City. The luxury apartment segment received the least interest, at 14% in Hanoi and 16% in Ho Chi Minh City.
