(Baonghean.vn) - On December 11th, the Quy Hop District Youth Union, in coordination with the Chau Quang Commune People's Committee, launched a campaign to improve irrigation, dredge canals, and clear waterways at the commune's reservoir.

With a spirit of enthusiasm and volunteerism for the community, nearly 600 youth union members from the commune's Youth Union, the Youth Union of Quy Hop 3 High School, and the Chau Quang commune's farmers' association participated in dredging and clearing bushes along the commune committee's reservoir, covering an area of ​​over 1 hectare.

This reservoir annually provides irrigation for nearly 20 hectares of rice paddies in four hamlets: Don Mong, Quang Minh, Ban Phay, and Yen Luom. However, the water flow is being blocked by water hyacinth and other debris.

Clearing the reservoir will allow water to flow through 20 hectares of rice paddies.

From now until December 18th, the District Youth Union Executive Committee will continue to direct the 21 commune and town-level Youth Union branches and 3 high schools to coordinate and organize campaigns to respond to the irrigation campaign throughout the district.

This is a meaningful activity that promotes the pioneering and volunteer role of the youth of Quy Hop in contributing to the economic and social development and the construction of new rural areas in the locality.
