64 students awarded at Chemistry Olympiad 19-5

On the evening of August 10, in Cua Lo ward, Nghe An Chemistry Association held the award ceremony of the 4th National Chemistry Olympiad 19-5 in 2025.

This is an annual activity that has been maintained by the Nghe An Chemistry Association for many years. In 2025, the competition gathered more than 1,500 chemistry-loving contestants from 15 provinces and cities across the country. After the first round of online competition, 104 best contestants were selected to the final round to compete directly in Nghe An province.

Previously, the ExamChemistry Olympiad Finals 19-5, initiated in 2021 by Nghe An Chemistry Association and became a meaningful intellectual playground.

Organizing the Chemistry Olympiad on May 19 is one of the meaningful activities of the association to promote the movement of teaching and learning chemistry in secondary and high schools. Through this, it aims to discover and honor students with talent in chemistry, create a source of training chemistry students for high schools, contributing to the goal of training talents for the homeland and the country.

Speaking at the closing and award ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Cao Cu Giac - Chairman of Nghe An Chemistry Association, Head of the Organizing Committee said: This year's exam brings many new points, the most prominent is the bilingual exam structure (Vietnamese and English), to encourage students to use English in studying Chemistry.

This year's exam also focuses on reading comprehension and practical application of Chemistry to assess not only knowledge but also critical thinking, problem solving and creativity.

From the success of this competition, the students have conveyed a strong message about the appeal of Chemistry... and spread the love of contemporary Chemistry to everyone.

The success of the competition is an affirmation of the role of Chemistry in the life and future of the country. From there, it arouses the passion for science, contributing to nurturing generations of talented intellectuals for the homeland.

At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded 64 excellent contestants with 2 First prizes, 12 Second prizes, 16 Third prizes and 34 Encouragement prizes. The First, Second and Third prizes were also awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals by the Organizing Committee.

The first prize of the contest went to two contestants, Le Van Lam, a 9B student at Le Hong Phong Secondary School, Hung Nguyen Commune, Nghe An Province and Nguyen Xuan Manh, a 11A1 student at Quynh Luu 4 High School, Quynh Tam Commune, Nghe An Province.

In addition, 40 other candidates also received certificates of participation.

On this occasion, Nghe An Chemistry Association awarded Nguyen Ngo Duc - Class 12A4, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, who won the Gold Medal at the Mendeleev International Chemistry Olympiad (IMChO) 2025.

In addition, members with high achievements in training excellent students in Chemistry and training students to score 10 points in Chemistry in the 2025 graduation exam, and members with excellent achievements in the association's activities in 2025 were also awarded.
