65 dead, 40 missing due to Typhoon Yagi
The circulation after storm Yagi caused heavy rain and flooding in many northern provinces and cities, including Hanoi and Thai Nguyen, killing 65 people and leaving 40 missing.
On the morning of June 10, the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) said that as of 6:00 a.m. this morning, before and during the storm, the number of human casualties was less than 10, but the circulation after the storm caused heavy rain, triggering landslides, causing the number of casualties to increase rapidly.
The biggest damage was in Cao Bang. Yesterday, Nguyen Binh district had a series of landslides that killed 17 people, left 38 missing, and injured 12. The first incident occurred at 1:30 a.m. in Lung Sung hamlet, when soil and rocks from the hill slid down onto 6 households with 34 people. After more than half a day of searching, 7 bodies aged 4-46 were found, 7 others were seriously injured, and 4 people are still missing.

In Ca Thanh commune, Nguyen Binh district, at 5:45 a.m., soil and rocks from the positive slope slid down National Highway 34, causing a 29-seat passenger bus to slide 800m down the cliff, a 5-seat car to slide nearly 3km down the stream, and burying several motorbikes.
On the bus, the local forces found 2 dead people, rescued 1 person, and 15 people are still missing. On the 5-seat car, 1 person died, 1 person was rescued, and 3 people are still missing. In addition, the body of a person riding a motorbike was also found, and 8 people are still missing.
In addition, Ca Thanh commune also had another landslide that hit 6 households with 38 people, causing 2 deaths, 7 missing people, and 3 injured people.

The second most damaged was Lao Cai with 20 dead, 11 missing and 14 injured. In Sa Pa town, the first landslide on the afternoon of September 8 in Muong Hoa commune damaged 4 houses with 26 people. After more than 1 day, 7 bodies were found.
In Ban Pho commune, Bac Ha district, yesterday morning, landslides killed 5 people. In San Chai commune, Simacai district, landslides also killed 4 people, 1 child was lucky to escape.
Storms and floods have killed 9 people in Quang Ninh, 7 people in Yen Bai; 4 people each in Hanoi and Hoa Binh; 2 people each in Hai Phong, Lang Son, Tuyen Quang; 1 person each in Hai Duong, Bac Giang, Ha Giang, Lai Chau. Along with that, more than 750 people were injured in most provinces and cities in the North.

Floods on the Red River in Phu Tho collapsed two spans of the Phong Chau Bridge, leaving 13 people missing. By 1 p.m., 3a people had been rescued. Tens of thousands of houses in Yen Bai, Thai Nguyen, Lao Cai, Cao Bang, and Bac Giang were flooded to a depth of 0.5-1.5 meters. More than 48,000 houses were damaged.
In terms of agriculture, nearly 150,000 hectares of rice, mainly in Hai Duong, Bac Giang, and Hai Phong, were flooded. 27,000 hectares of crops and 11,000 hectares of fruit trees were damaged. Nearly 1,600 aquaculture cages were swept away, mainly in Quang Ninh.
