1. Characteristics of the Hyacinth plant
According to Dr. Nguyen Quang Duong, Department of General Internal Medicine, Tue Tinh Hospital, Siegesbeckia orientalis, also known as "pig dung grass," has the scientific name Siegesbeckia orientalis L. and belongs to the Asteraceae family.
Hyacinth is an annual herb, about 30-40cm to 1m tall, with many branches and glandular hairs. Flowering season: April-May to August-September. Fruiting season: June-October.
Hyacinth grows wild throughout the provinces of Vietnam. In addition, it is also abundant in China, Japan, Australia, the Philippines, and many other countries.
Hyacinth herb is the whole plant of the Hyacinth plant, dried in the sun or in a dryer.

2. Uses and dosage of Hyacinthus orientalis
According to ancient texts, the herb *Hyptis* has a bitter taste, a cold nature, and is slightly toxic. It acts on the liver and kidney meridians; it has the effect of dispelling wind and dampness, strengthening tendons and bones; treating numbness in the limbs, back pain, knee pain, and rheumatism. Lesson 1:Wash the Hy Thiem herb thoroughly, dry it, soak it in alcohol and honey, steam it, then dry it again; steam it nine times in total (the nine-steaming, nine-drying method), then dry it, grind it into a powder, and form it into pills weighing 9g each with honey; take one pill at a time, 2-3 times a day.
Lesson 2:50g of Siegesbeckia orientalis, 20g of Smilax glabra, 20g of Cynanchum stauntonii root, 20g of Polygonum multiflorum; dry the herbs, grind them into a fine powder, sift, and form into pills. Take 10-15g three times a day. Alternatively, soak in alcohol and drink.
Lesson 3:150g of Siegesbeckia orientalis, 50g of Polygonum multiflorum, 50g of Bidens pilosa, 50g of Xanthium strumarium, 50g of Smilax glabra, 50g of Dioscorea opposita, 50g of Pulsatilla chinensis. All ingredients are finely chopped and cooked into a soft paste, then mixed with 250ml of 35° alcohol. Take 2-3 times a day, one tablespoon each time, before meals and before bedtime.
