Cars priced under 700 million VND account for nearly 60% of sales in the market, offering a wide variety of models and types. Therefore, consumers have relatively easy choices.

Looking at the data from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), in the list of Top 10 best-selling car models in the market over the past few years, consumers have witnessed the dominance of models with a list price under 700 million VND.

The reason is that models sold at this price point are very accessible to the needs of the vast majority of customers. They also come in a full range of styles, from sedans and SUVs to MPVs, and offer a wide variety of features and equipment. Below are some models worth considering.

Hyundai Grand i10 (360-455 million VND)

The Hyundai Grand i10 was once the best-selling model of the South Korean automaker in the Vietnamese market from 2013 to 2019. It's a small urban car available in both sedan and hatchback variants, offered at a reasonable price.

Since August 2021, the Hyundai Grand i10 sold in Vietnam has entered its third generation with many changes to its interior and exterior design. The car's dimensions have also been increased in length and width, making the i10 look longer and more elegant.

The engine, transmission, and variants remain the same as before. The equipment on the Hyundai Grand i10 is now more comprehensive, with some notable features such as cruise control, tire pressure monitoring, hill start assist, and electronic stability control.

The i10 is priced between 360 and 455 million VND and comes in 6 versions, allowing users to choose according to their available budget.

Hyundai Accent (425-540 million VND)

Undoubtedly, the Hyundai Accent is a B-segment sedan that's hard to ignore if you're on a tight budget. The strengths of this Korean model are its youthful styling and modern interior with many attractive features. However, the Hyundai Accent's performance is still slightly inferior to its Japanese rivals like the Toyota Vios or Honda City.

Nevertheless, the advantage of a lower price than its competitors has helped Accent attract many customers and encourage them to buy the car. The listed price of the Hyundai Accent ranges from approximately 425-540 million VND. In reality, consumers can often buy the car at a significantly lower price.

Toyota Vios (490-570 million VND)

It's hard to ignore the Toyota Vios, as it's been the best-selling B-segment sedan in the Vietnamese market for many years. The current generation of the Vios was launched in 2013 and received a major upgrade in 2018.

Despite not being highly rated for its features and having poor sound insulation, the car is chosen by many people thanks to its strong brand, high reliability, spacious interior, and fuel efficiency. The listed price of the Toyota Vios ranges from 490-570 million VND.

Honda City (559-599 million VND)

If we were to name the most attractive sedan in the price range under 700 million VND, the Honda City would be a worthy contender. This is because it's a completely new model, has a sleek design, and its interior and exterior design is highly praised by many consumers.

Besides its beautiful design and the most spacious interior in its segment, the Honda City also boasts the most powerful 1.5L engine with 119 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque.

Compared to the Hyundai Accent and Toyota Vios, the Honda City is not marketed as a commercial vehicle and is primarily purchased by individual customers for family use. Therefore, the listed price of the Honda City is usually higher, ranging from 559 to 599 million VND.

KIA Sonet (554-624 million VND)

The Sonet is a KIA A-segment SUV that was first launched in Vietnam in October 2021. This A-segment SUV boasts a compact yet muscular and dynamic exterior. The KIA Sonet features a spacious interior, a sporty design, and many modern amenities.

Despite being a A-segment SUV, the KIA Sonet is equipped with a 1.5L engine producing 113 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque, paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Priced between 554 and 624 million VND, the KIA Sonet is affordably priced, quickly achieving positive sales results.

Mitsubishi Xpander (555-658 million VND)

In the 7-seater MPV segment, the Mitsubishi Xpander is currently the most sought-after model by consumers, evidenced by its monthly sales figures consistently reaching nearly 2,000 units.

Launched in Vietnam in 2018, the quality and reliability of this product are now unquestionable. The vehicle has been continuously upgraded year after year, and these changes reflect a willingness to listen to customer feedback.

The Xpander's strengths lie in its design, spaciousness, and high practicality. Its only drawback is that it only has two airbags. The price of this 7-seater MPV ranges from 555 to 658 million VND.

Toyota Veloz Cross (658-706 million VND)

After the failures of the Toyota Rush and Avanza, Toyota decided to conquer the affordable 7-seater MPV segment with a new model called the Veloz Cross. This affordable 7-seater MPV from Toyota was introduced to the Vietnamese market in March 2022, based on the Daihatsu chassis platform.

The Toyota Veloz Cross is praised by consumers for its modern styling, spacious interior, numerous driver-assistance safety features, and fuel-efficient 1.0 turbo engine. Its drawbacks include thin body panels and poor sound insulation.

For customers who appreciate practicality, need to transport many people, and love the Toyota brand, this is a model worth considering. The price of the Toyota Veloz Cross ranges from 658 to 706 million VND.
