The People's Court of Tan Chau District (Tay Ninh) has just sentenced Vu Thi Cuong (52 years old) and Tran Thi Nhan (62 years old) to 30 months in prison, suspended, and a 5-year probation for the crime of Disturbing public order. For the same crime, 5 other women were also sentenced to 24 months in prison, suspended, and a 4-year probation.

According to the indictment, fromFrom September to December 2017, seeing sand trucks from the sand yard of Viet Uc Company Limited, Branch 2 running on DH 805 road causing pollution and danger to other vehicles, people in Tan Tien hamlet, Tan Phu commune, Tan Chau district went out to the road to block the sand trucks from running.

Tan Phu Commune Police later administratively punished Ms. Cuong and Nhan for disturbing public order. On the afternoon of December 11, 2017, the seven defendants continued to stand, sit, and lie down on DH 805 Street in front of three sand trucks, causing serious traffic congestion for many hours.

Considering the defendants' role in blocking vehicles due to frustration, causing serious traffic obstruction, without discussion, enticement, incitement, and committing crimes spontaneously, the panel of judges sentenced them to the above sentences.
