In the first seven months of 2026, the consumer price index in Nghe An increased by 4.4%.

In July 2026, consumer prices in Nghe An province remained generally stable, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increasing by 0.02% compared to the previous month. Price fluctuations were mainly influenced by fuel prices and consumer demand during the summer. Overall, for the first seven months of 2026, the CPI increased by 4.4% compared to the same period last year.

In July, 6 out of 11 groups of goods and services saw price increases, including: Other goods and services increased by 2.39%; housing, electricity, water and construction materials increased by 2%; food and catering services increased by 0.26%; beverages and tobacco increased by 0.23%; household equipment and appliances increased by 0.02%; and culture, entertainment and tourism increased by 0.01%.

Conversely, the transportation group decreased by 2%; postal and telecommunications services decreased by 0.21%; and clothing, hats, and footwear decreased by 0.09%.

The education and medicine/healthcare services sectors remained stable.

On average, in the first seven months of the year, all 11 groups of goods and services recorded increases compared to the same period last year. Specifically, housing, electricity, water, fuel, and construction materials saw the highest increase at 6.68%; food and catering services increased by 5.53%; transportation by 4.11%; other goods and services increased by 3.69%; beverages and tobacco increased by 3.54%; clothing, hats, and footwear increased by 3.31%; culture, entertainment, and tourism increased by 2.52%; household equipment and appliances increased by 1%; postal and telecommunications services increased by 0.56%; education increased by 0.14%; and medicines and medical services increased by 0.12%.

In July, the gold price index fell 4.24% compared to the previous month but still rose 18.84% compared to the same period last year, reflecting a trend in line with the global gold market.

The US dollar price index rose 0.21% compared to the previous month and 0.66% compared to the same period last year.

Trade and services continue to thrive.

Trade, services, transportation, and tourism activities in the province continued to maintain their growth momentum in July, thanks to the peak of the summer tourist season and the demand for shopping in preparation for the new school year, creating momentum to boost consumption and the circulation of goods.

Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in July were estimated at VND 17,186.9 billion, an increase of 0.37% compared to the previous month and a 14.63% increase compared to the same period last year. The cumulative figure for the first seven months of the year reached approximately VND 113,022 billion, a 13.86% increase compared to the same period in 2015.

Specifically, retail sales of goods in July were estimated at VND 12,932.4 billion, accounting for 75.25% of total retail sales and consumer service revenue, an increase of 1.04% compared to the previous month and a 14.01% increase compared to the same period last year. The cumulative figure for the first seven months reached VND 85,477.7 billion, an increase of 12.98%.

Accommodation, dining, and travel activities are thriving at many tourist destinations such as Cua Lo, Bai Lu, Quynh Beach, Dien Thanh, Kim Lien Historical Site, Muong Thanh Green Land Dien Lam... The high number of visitors contributes to extending the length of stay, diversifying tourism products, and promoting the sustainable development of the tourism industry.
